By Jim Dower: Former middleweight contender David Lemieux (25-2, 24 KO’s) will be back in action on June 8th against Juadiel Zepeda (12-5-1, 9 KO’s) in an eight round scheduled bout at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Lemieux, 23, has seen his career suddenly nosedive with two consecutive losses against Marco Antonio Rubio and Joachim Alcine in his last two fights last year.

Will Rubio turn Chavez Jr. into another Lemieux on February 4th?
By Dan Ambrose: Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1, 46 KO’s) did what few boxing fans thought he could do last year when he withstood a furious early onslaught by power punching Canadian David Lemieux last April and came on to batter and stop him in the 7th round in front of Lemieux’s home fans in Montreal, Canada.
Alcine whips Lemieux
By Jim Dower: David Lemieux’s time as a top five middleweight contender appears to be up after Lemieux was beaten by 35-year-old former World Boxing Association junior middleweight champion Joachin Alcine (33-2-1, 19 KOs) by a 12 round majority decision on Saturday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The final judges’ scores were 116-112, 116-112 and 114-114.

David Lemieux returns to the ring against Joachim Alcine on 12/10
By Dan Ambrose: Number #3 ranked WBC middleweight contender David Lemieux (25-1, 24 KO’s) returns to the ring on December 10th against 35-year-old former WBA World light middleweight champion Joachim Alcine (32-2-1, 19 KO’s) in a scheduled 12 round bout at the Bell Centre, in Montreal, Canada. Lemieux, 22, will have his WBC International middleweight title on the line for the fight, although I doubt that Alcine cares too much about winning that title.

What is yet to come in 2011?
By Sam Smith: The year 2011 has given Boxing fans many surprises and disappointments. Juan Manuel Lopez’s crushing defeat at the hands of Orlando Salido was something very few expected, David Lemieux’s meteoric rise to stardom was shot down by a resilient Marco Antonio Rubio. An upset is something I personally as a fan of Boxing enjoy, not necessarily if I followed the career of the defeated fighter but I do like to find myself asking the question I’m sure most fans ask themselves post upset, ‘How did I not see that coming?’
