By Jim Dower: Amir Khan (26-3, 18 KO’s) suffered a huge blow to his once promising career tonight in losing to WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (24-0, 15 KO’s) by a 4th round TKO at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas. Khan’s old WBA light welterweight title also was on the line for the fight.

Steward feels that Khan has almost every advantage that you can think of for this fight in terms of physical tools and experience.

Khan: Tonight’s fight between WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia Jr (23-0, 14 KO’s) and Amir Khan (26-2, 18 KO’s) would be one of those fight that was hyped by someone that is not fighting. Danny Garcia’s father and in the end will make Amir Khan shine and gain a title. It is true that Danny Garcia is a very good fighter and is talented, undefeated and still has a future in boxing after he’s defeated tonight.

This is a guy who was born in a very tough neighborhood in Northern Philadelphia to a Puerto Rican mother and father, who was a former boxer himself.
