Froch-Abraham: Can Carl change his fighting style enough to avoid getting knocked out on October 2nd?

Image: Froch-Abraham: Can Carl change his fighting style enough to avoid getting knocked out on October 2nd?By Scott Gilfoid: I can’t say I like Carl Froch’s chances going into his next Super Six tournament fight against Arthur Abraham on October 2nd at the Chapiteau de Fontvieille, Principauté de Monaco, Monaco. Out of all the opponents that I’ve seen fight Abraham in the past, Froch seems to be the most perfectly suited victim of all the ones I’ve seen. The fighter that comes closest to be the perfect opponent for Abraham, besides Froch, was Edison Miranda. Abraham destroyed Miranda in a 4th round knockout in their rematch in June 2008. In their first fight, Abraham had to deal with a broken jaw that he suffered early in the fight and this got in the way of him being able to fight at his best.

Will Froch blow a gasket and start fouling if he falls behind in the Abraham fight?

Image: Will Froch blow a gasket and start fouling if he falls behind in the Abraham fight?By Scott Gilfoid: I’m really not sure what to expect from the October 2nd bout between former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham in their stage 3 Super Six fight in Monaco. This fight matches two power punchers coming off of losses and in need of a win. Froch technically has one win and one loss in the Super Six tournament, but you really can’t say that Froch’s win over Andre Dirrell was an impressive one in his first fight of the Super Six tourney. If Froch is cool with it, then that’s good. Who knows? Maybe Froch thinks he won it by a landslide decision, since he’s one of the few people that believe he should have won his last fight against Mikkel Kessler last April. Froch lost that fight by a 12 round unanimous decision, but Froch still thinks he won the fight for some reason.

Predicting the Rest of the Super Six: Dirrell-Ward, Froch-Abraham, Kessler-Green

Image: Predicting the Rest of the Super Six: Dirrell-Ward, Froch-Abraham, Kessler-GreenBy Joseph Hirsch: The first two rounds of the Showtime Super Six World Boxing Classic are already in the books. There have been knockouts, controversial decisions, and upsets, but there is still no clear favorite. Going into the third and final round, it really is any man’s game. The next three fights to take place will determine who will advance to the semi-finals. Before that, though, it might be appropriate to pick who will win the next fights, and by what method.

Andre Dirrell vs. Andre Ward: Both of these fighters are incredibly talented, and they have been friends ever since they were amateurs. Ward has a slightly better Olympic pedigree, and he is the only fighter thus far to win both of his matches in the tournament.
