Bradley: I must beat Rios to get trilogy fight against Pacquiao

YouTube video

By Dan Ambrose: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) has an outside chance of getting a trilogy fight against Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao if he can get past former WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KOs) in their fight this Saturday night on HBO from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bradley’s promoter Bob Arum has already said that he’s one of the fighters that he’s looking at the match-up with Pacquiao if he beats Rios and looks good in their fight. With the high stakes for this fight, Bradley isn’t taking his eyes of the task at hand for this fight.

Roach: Rios can win if he performs like last time

YouTube video

By Dan Ambrose: Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KOs) is a huge 5:1 underdog for his title this Saturday night against WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) and next to nobody is giving him much of a chance of winning this fight at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Trainer Freddie Roach believe that the 29-year-old Rios has a very good chance of winning this fight if he performs like the fighter he was in his last fight against a shot-looking Mike Alvarado last January in their rubber match.

Rios: If I lose, this could be the end of my career

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us2-rRCzcj8&feature=youtu.be

By Dan Ambrose: Brandon Rios’s career is on the verge of being over if he loses his fight this Saturday night against WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) on HBO Boxing from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rios (32-2-1, 24 KOs) has lost 2 out of his last 4 fights, and in reality, Rios has lost 3 out of his last 4 fights because his win over Diego Chaves last year was one in which he would have lost if not for referee Vic Draukulitch bailing him out by disqualifying Chaves for throwing a phantom elbow in the 9th round. Rios would have lost that fight if not for the disqualification.

Arum still wants Bradley-Rios winner to fight Canelo or Pacquiao

arum9By Dan Ambrose: Promoter Bob Arum hasn’t changed his mind about him wanting the winner of this Saturday’s fight between WBO welterweight champion (32-1-1, 12 KOs) vs. Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KOs) to fight either Saul “Canelo” Alvarez if he beats WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto on November 21st, or Manny Pacquiao on April 9th.

Arum is only extending the invitation for the Pacquiao fight to Bradley if he comes out victorious. Arum does not want Rios to fight Pacquiao again because their previous fight was so one-sided in 2013.

Brandon Rios with chance for Canelo or Canelo fights

Rios_BD7F2024(Photo Credit: Chris Farina/Top Rank) By Tim Fletcher: Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KOs) has a chance to get a big payday if he can beat WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday night in their fight on HBO. According to Rios’ trainer Robert Garcia, Rios’ manager Cameron Dunkin is talking about Rios potentially fighting Saul “Canelo” Alvarez or Miguel Cotto, depending on which of those two fighters emerge victorious from their fight on November 21st.

It’s obvious a little more tricky if Cotto is the one who comes out on top in his fight against Canelo, because he used to be with Top Rank and it is unclear whether he’ll be agreeable to fight a Top Rank fighter like Rios.

Can Teddy Atlas give Timothy Bradley a Makeover?

YouTube video

By Michael Montero – This Saturday night Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley looks to inch closer toward a future ticket in Canastota when he faces Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. This will be the second fight of 2015 for both men, as Bradley scored a decision victory over Jessie Vargas in June and Rios stopped a shot Mike Alvarado back in January. Prior to that both men had lost decisively to Manny Pacquiao and struggled in rough fights with the rugged Argentinian Diego Chaves. But while Rios will have longtime trainer Robert Garcia in his corner Saturday, Bradley will be fighting with new trainer Teddy Atlas for the first time.

Rios: I’m going to force Bradley to fight me

riosBy Dan Ambrose: 29-year-old Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KO) says he doesn’t care if WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) elects to box this Saturday night because he plans on cutting off the ring and forcing the 32-year-old champion to fight whether he wants to or not.

Bradley has a new trainer in Teddy Atlas, but about the only thing that he’ll be able to add to Bradley’s game that he doesn’t already have it to make him more mobile and less focused on punching it out with his opponents.

Rios can’t afford a loss to Bradley

Rios_BD7F1744(Photo Credit: Chris Farina/Top Rank) By Tim Fletcher: Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KOs) needs a win this Saturday night against WBO 147lb champion Tim Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) to get some of the bigger fights that his promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is interested in making for him if he wins. A loss for the 29-year-old Rios would be a brutal disaster that he cannot afford right now.

In Rios’ last fight against Mike Alvarado, Rios came into the fight with his career on the line and with him not in the position to lose. Fortunately for Rios, Alvarado was not the same fighter he’d been in their first two fights. There are a lot of boxing fans who think that Rios has taken too many head shots in his recent fights, and they feel that he needs to get out of the sport before he gets really hurt.

Garcia wants Rios to fight Canelo after Bradley

1-cotto-canelo-m (10)By Dan Ambrose: If Brandon Rios can get past WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley in their fight on November 7th, Rios’ trainer Robert Garcia is up for facing former WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez if he beats WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in their fight on November 21st.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said on Tuesday to ESPN that he already spoke to Canelo’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya about matching the winner of the Rios-Bradley fight against Canelo if he defeats Cotto, and he’s on board with making that fight happen.

Atlas: Tim Bradley knows what it takes to win

Rios_BD7F1439(Photo credit Top Rank/Chris Farina) By Dan Ambrose: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley’s new trainer Teddy Atlas says he’s spent a lot of time with Bradley studying video of former WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios’ past fights in order to scout out the weaknesses in his game so that they can capitalize on it when the two fighters face each other on HBO on November 7th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Atlas is seen by Bradley as a wise trainer that can help him beat the top guys like Rios. However, Bradley is going to need to fight a lot better than he has recently in his last three fights because he’s put in uneven performances in his last three fights against Jessie Vargas, Diego Chaves and Manny Pacquiao.
