By Sean McDaniel: Middleweight contender Andy Lee (24-1, 18 KO’s) will be looking to get revenge for a 7th round TKO loss to Bryan Vera (17-5, 11 KO’s) on February 4th, if the fight can be put together. The word is Lee wants the fight and is looking to avenge his loss from two years ago against Vera. In that fight, Lee had Vera hurt in the 1st round but was unable to take him out.

Andy Lee vs. John Duddy would be huge in New York, says Steward
By Jason Kim: Trainer Emanuel Steward thinks an all Irish contest between middleweights John Duddy (29-2, 18 KO’s) and Andy Lee (24-1, 18 KO’s) would be huge in New York where he thinks it could draw as many as 10,000 boxing fans at Madison Square Garden, according to Michael Marley at Examiner.com.
Possible opponents for Allan Green: Andy Lee, Sartison, and Stieglitz
By William Mackay: It looks like Allan Green is going to be staying in the Super Six tournament after all, as the news has been announced that the group stage 3 part of the tournament will be going ahead in November instead of going straight into the semifinals. After Mikkel Kessler dropped out of the tournament suddenly, it left Green in limbo, without an opponent and it was thought that Green would be dismissed.
Andy Lee vs. John Duddy on December 4th
By Jason Kim: A fight between Irish fringe middleweight contenders John Duddy and Andy Lee could be taking place on December 4th, according to boxing news from the Belfasttelgraph.co.uk. Both Duddy and Lee’s management are interested in this bout and it’s a fight that kind of makes sense, since neither Duddy or Lee are likely going to be getting a shot at a title against any of the middleweight champions. Indeed, Duddy, 31, was recently dominated by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision loss in June.
Andy Lee: Pursuing a European Title
By Dan Fitz-Simons: On May 15th Andy Lee 20-1 (14KOs) will take on Mamadou (“Dou-Dou”) Thiam in his fourth professional bout in Limerick, Ireland. Thiam was born in Senegal but fights out of France with a record of 46-8 (43 KOs). He has 54 professional fights under his belt and several credible opponents on his resume including: Felix Trinidad, Sebastien Demers, and Sergiy Dzinziruk. Even more troubling for Lee is the fact that Dou-Dou has a 79.63% knockout rate. Thiam can bang, and if Andy zigs when he should have zagged, Dou-Dou will be in his face making him pay, possibly with a knockout. Team Lee will have to draw up a carefully prepared strategy to defeat the seasoned Senegalese warrior.

By William Mackay: During yesterday’s news conference at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, unbeaten heavyweight Chris Arreola took a shot at British heavyweight David Haye, saying “I always knew David was a vagina.” Arreola was referring to Haye having pulled out of two heavyweight clashes with the Klitschko brothers in the past two months. Vitali Klitschko, 38, is skeptical about Haye’s injury excuse backing out of the June 20th bout against Wladimir Klitschko.
Lee Defeats Fedotovs; Banks Stops Butlin, Ustinov Beats Sprott – Boxing Results
By William Mackay: Once again, middleweight prospect Andy Lee (18-1, 13 KOs) failed to look impressive, this time in defeating Latvian Olegs Fedotovs (10-6, 6 KOs) by a six round unanimous decision Saturday night on the undercard of the IBF/WBO heavyweight title match between Wladimir Klitschko and challenger Ruslan Chagaev at the Veltins Arena, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Boxing News – Witter vs. Alexander Pushed Back to August; Lee vs. Fedotovs on June 20th
By Jason Kim: Former World Boxing Council light welterweight champion Junior Witter (37-2-2, 22 KOs) will have to wait a little longer before he gets a shot at recapturing his WBC title because his opponent Devon Alexander won’t be ready to go by the originally scheduled date of July 11th for the bout. Instead, the fight is likely to be pushed back to August 1st.
Boxing – Is Andy Lee Still Relevant In the Middleweight Division?
By Sean McDaniel: It’s disappointing how far middleweight Andy Lee’s star has faded since his 7th round stoppage loss to Brian Vera last year. In that fight, Lee had Vera hurt early in the fight but was unable to finish him off. Vera then stuck around and began to batter the tall, slender 6’2” Lee with big right hands in the 6th and 7th, wobbling Lee and puffing up his face.
