By William Mackay: Photo credit: Sumio Yamada – Amir Khan wants a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO’s) so bad that he can taste it. But he’s going to have to wait a while for Mayweather to fight WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) on Saturday and then perhaps one or two more fighters before Mayweather turns his attention to Khan.

Khan looking to finalize a fight against Lamont Peterson for December 10th
By William Mackay: With the option to fight Jessie Vargas already given to him by Floyd Mayweather Jr. as part of the conditions to fighting him, IBF/WBA World Super light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO’s) appears set to ignore those conditions and instead take on his light hitting IBF number #1 mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KO’s) on December 10th rather than face the hard punching Vargas or other hard sluggers like Lucas Matthysse, Marcos Maidana or Breidis Prescott.

By Scott Gilfoid: I got a big laugh out of Amir Khan’s latest excuse for not fighting a rematch with Breidis Prescott, who knocked Khan out easily in one round a few years ago. Khan is now saying that Prescott has to beat all the fighters that Khan defeated in the past three years before he’ll fight him again. Khan includes McCloskey with the same conditions.
