By Dan Ambrose: Golden Boy Promotions wants WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (41-0-1, 30 KO’s) to fight on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. pay per view undercard on May 4th. There’s still no word about whether they’re going to be able to get the young 22-year-old because he reportedly wants a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 14th as part of the condition for him to fight on May 4th.
If Golden Boy can get an agreement from Mayweather to face Canelo in September then we’ll be seeing him on the Mayweather undercard on May 4th, but it might not be against the guy that boxing fans want to see him fight in WBA junior middleweight champion Austin Trout. Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy already said Trout hadn’t done enough to deserve the Alvarez fight yet.
By Dan Ambrose: It’s looking like WBC junior middleweight champion Sail “Canelo” Alvarez won’t be facing WBA junior middleweight champion Austin Trout next judging by the comments Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer made to Sports Illustrated writer Chris Mannix this past week on twitter.

Unfortunately, Angulo’s problems haven’t been taken care of by Hunter because Angulo looked like the same slow, plodding fighter that he’s been in struggling to beat a little known welterweight named Jorge Silva (19-3-2, 15 KO’s) by a less than spectacular 10 round unanimous decision on the undercard of Amir Khan vs. Carlos Molina at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.
By Jim Dower: Amir Khan (27-3, 19 KO’s) did what many people expected him to do and that is easily defeat Carlos Molina (17-1, 7 KO’s) by a 10th round TKO in what meant as a confidence building fight for the down in his luck Khan at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.

The 6’7” Wilder weighed a light 223 pounds for the vacant WBC Continental Americas heavyweight title.
