Broner to face DeMarco on November 17th on HBO – Breaking News!
By Eric Thomas: Former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) will be moving up in weight to challenge WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) on November 17th, according to Fightnews.com. The fight will be televised by HBO, possibly in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
DeMarco, 26, is coming off of a 1st round knockout victory over fringe contender John Molina last Saturday night on September 8th. DeMarco hurt Molina with a straight left to the head and then flurried on him until the referee stopped the fight with Molina hung up on the ropes like a giant fly stuck in a spiderweb. That was DeMarco’s second defense of his World Boxing Council 135 pound title.
Adrien Broner to fight on November 17th in Atlantic City
By Allan Fox: Former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) will be making his lightweight debut on November 17th against a still to be determined opponent in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Also on the card will be a fight between heavyweight contenders Seth Mitchell and Johnathon Banks.
Golden Boy Promotions wants to try and match the 23-year-old Broner up with WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco but it remains to be seen whether they can put that fight together. Recently, WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero and Broner had exchanged words and it looked like there could be a fight put together between them after Broner told Guerrero to send a contract over so he could sign for a fight. However, it doesn’t look like their mutual promoters at Golden Boy wants to waste the two of them on each other, so we can look for Broner to be instead put in with a lightweight for his November 17th fight.

Currently boxing has stars such as Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao who garner attention from not just the boxing world but also the sporting world and beyond.

By Dan Ambrose: While boxing fans seem to be more interested in seeing former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) face WBC interim welterweight champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (30-1-1, 18 KO’s) in his next fight, Oscar De La Hoya, the president of Golden Boy Promotions, seems to be more inclined to match the 23-year-old Broner against the tall and slender southpaw WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s).
De La Hoya said on his twitter “DeMarco vs. Broner.”

By Dan Ambrose: WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero (30-1, 18 KO’s) went straight to Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya to see if he’d be willing to match him up against fellow Golden Boy fighter former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) for a grudge match to settle their differences.
Here’s what Guerrero said to De La Hoya earlier today on twitter:
“Hey Oscar, you know I walk the walk. Let’s do it [Broner vs. Guerrero]. You say you can make [the fight], then let’s roll! Had to let young pup [Broner] know!”

Guerrero got in Broner’s fast last Friday at the Chad Dawson – Andre Ward weigh-in and Guerrero seemed to really anger Broner to the point where he agreed to fight him, saying “Send the contract. I’ll sign it.

Guerrero got in Broner’s face and seemed to pester him until finally Broner snapped, telling him to “Send the contract. I’ll sign it.”
