The fight will be televised by HBO, possibly in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

DeMarco, 26, is coming off of a 1st round knockout victory over fringe contender John Molina last Saturday night on September 8th. DeMarco hurt Molina with a straight left to the head and then flurried on him until the referee stopped the fight with Molina hung up on the ropes like a giant fly stuck in a spiderweb. That was DeMarco’s second defense of his World Boxing Council 135 pound title.

Broner destroyed Vicente Escobedo last month in a 5th round TKO victory. Broner lost his WBO super featherweight title on the scales, however, when he was unable to make weight for the fight. Broner already had said that this was to be his last fight at super featherweight, and it just looks like he didn’t take it seriously making weight because he was giving up the WBO strap anyway.

DeMarco is a good fighter but he may have problem with Broner’s size and power. DeMarco had big time problems two years ago against Edwin Valero, getting stopped in the 9th round of a one-sided fight from start to finish. DeMarco simply couldn’t handle Valero’s power and it was like watching a fighter working out on a heavy bag the way that Valero pounded DeMarco like he was a piece of meat all night.

Broner may not have the power that Valero had, but he hits plenty hard and he’s so accurate with his punches and good defensively. It’s going to be incredibly tough for DeMarco to beat a fighter like Broner. DeMarco will have to be able to take a lot of pin point shots if he wants to win.
