1. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr
Arguably, the biggest case for a boxer to move up in weight is Chavez Jr. He is not just a big middleweight, but a boxer who should really be fighting a couple of divisions at least above middleweight. It is getting to the point where it is not just affecting his performance in draining 20-30 pounds before fight night but also his overall health and boxing career. I would like to see Chavez Jr. make the step up to 168 permanently after Vera and go after a world title. He has the talent and those extra few pounds will help
2. Andre Ward
Andre Ward really has no business left at 168. He has proven to be the no.1 at the division beating all the top names. Andre is also a big super middleweight, having started out as a light heavy in the 2004 Olympics. Beating Dawson, who at the time was the best light heavy, proved that Andre can easily move up and conquer another division.
Miguel Cotto – We all know Cotto’s best performances were at welterweight. He was strong, fit and had KO power. At 154, Cotto has been a small light middleweight and against the elite, has come short, e.g. Floyd Mayweather and Austin Trout. This has been down to poor conditioning as Cotto is not a natural light middleweight and is blowing up not at his physical best at 154.
