Eddie Hearn claims Sela has denied in writing that Dana White will handle television production for Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua. However, Hearn remains open to negotiating White’s involvement and expects to meet him in Los Angeles next week.
That leaves White’s role unresolved. Hearn is challenging his claim to an existing production role while asking what Joshua and Matchroom would receive in exchange for agreeing to his participation.
“After that video, I spoke to Sela and I said, ‘Have you seen this video?’” Hearn told the post-fight press conference in Birmingham. “And they said, ‘Yes, and it is completely untrue.’ And they told me that in writing. … He cannot do that under the contract.”
That is Hearn’s account of Sela’s response and the contractual restrictions. The written communication and relevant contract wording were not presented during his remarks.
Hearn also acknowledged that Turki Alalshikh and Netflix want White involved. Their interest gives the proposed Los Angeles meeting a purpose: finding terms that satisfy Joshua’s side while allowing White a place in the event.
For Hearn, the question is what that participation adds. He asked what would be in it for Joshua and Matchroom, suggesting that permission could depend on a tangible benefit rather than simply accommodating the wishes of the other parties.
He conceded that the public dispute has helped the promotion. That creates an incentive to reach an agreement, particularly if an appearance by White generates more attention. Hearn wants freedom to question him directly if they share a press-conference stage.
The production claim nevertheless concerns a specific responsibility, beyond appearing at promotional events. Hearn’s remarks leave room for White to secure an agreed role later, but challenge the suggestion that television production is already his responsibility.
The proposed meeting could settle that difference. For now, Hearn’s position is that any involvement requires agreement from him and Joshua, with the benefits explained before they give their approval.
