Butler (38-6-1, 32 KOs) absorbed punishment through the middle rounds before the referee halted the fight in Round 7 with the Canadian badly hurt and no longer defending himself. The victory gave Berlanga a rebound win after his previous defeat and improved his record to 24-2 with 19 knockouts. The contest was halted at 1:14 of round.

Richardson Hitchins turned in a flawless performance Sunday night, defeating Ricardo Salas by unanimous decision in their 10-round welterweight co-main event at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Welterweight Emiliano Moreno earned an eight-round unanimous decision over Arnold Gonzalez in a competitive fight. Moreno (13-1, 7 KOs) built momentum after a closely contested start, landing the cleaner punches and applying steady pressure to take control over the second half of the fight. Gonzalez enjoyed success in spots, including a strong rally late in the seventh round, but he was unable to sustain it over the full distance.
