MIA Champ Keith Thurman: “Pain’s Coming” – But Is He the One Feeling It?

MIA former welterweight champion Keith Thurman predicts pain for unbeaten junior middleweight Tim Tszyu on March 30th. PBC lured Thurman back at the spry age of 35.

Inactive for the last two years, Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) is coming back for what many believe is the payday he’ll be getting from PBC to take on Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) in the 12-round main event on Amazon Prime PPV at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

You can’t blame fans for being skeptical about Thurman’s having chances against Tszyu. He’s fighting the wrong guy coming off another one of his long payoffs.

Thurman: Unbothered and Unimpressive

Thurman is unphased by his inactivity, believing that it won’t be a factor in this fight and that he’ll be able to erase away the seven years of being trapped by the forces of gravity, keeping him pinned to his sofa, with only enough energy to click the TV channel changer.

Somehow, the smell of green pulled Thurman from his couch, bringing him back. The pull of a hefty pull of a big paycheck has brought ‘One Time’ Thurman back.

Thurman isn’t worried about his extended break. He feels that his seven years of collecting dust hasn’t hurt his game, and he’s ready to show that on March 30th.

“If I’m Tim Tszyu, I’m thinking, ‘I’m the younger man; I’ve been keeping active. What’s Keith Thurman done? ‘One Time’ has fought one time since the Pacquiao fight [in 2019],'” said Keith Thurman to Premier Boxing Champions, talking about his fight against Tim Tszyu on March 30th on Amazon Prime PPV.

The “Washed Up” Question – It’s Legit

“You think I’m washed up, I’m just here for the check and I got two kids. Bring it, baby. Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman is back. I’m going to reestablish myself at the highest level of boxing in a new division on a new network, reaching out to a global new fanbase.”

Thurman’s record since 2019 is one win. ONE, but he’s not worried about it if you aren’t. The fans could be disappointed when this fight fails to produce the fireworks that Thurman is boosting.

“Someone is going to be in pain. Somebody is going to be disappointed, and it’s not going to be me,” said Thurman.
