Boxing Results: Raymond Ford and Luis Alberto Lopez Win!

In the Main Event southpaw Otakbek Kholmatov, 12-1 (11), #125.8, of Sirdaryo, UZB, was stopped by southpaw Raymond Ford, 15-0-1 (8), #125.9, of Camden, NJ, at 2:53 of the twelfth and final round for vacant WBA Featherweight title.

In the first round Ford WBA No. 2 ranked and returning after almost a year while Kholmatov No. 1 ranked each used effective jabs in a close round. In the seconds final minute their feet hit together as Ford went back several feet. Kholmatov seemed to take the round.

In the third round with half a minute remaining Kholmatov landed an overhand left to the chin rocking Ford.

In the fourth round Ford kept backing up Kholmatov who countered by landing lefts to mid-section of Ford.

In the fifth round Ford dominated the first two minutes with both slugging it out in the final minute with Ford taking his first round. In the sixth round it went back and forth as Ford chasing Kholmatov seemed to take the round.

In the seventh round Kholmatov became the aggressor dominating the round with both focusing on the body. In the eighth rounds halfway point Ford rocked Kholmatov with a right jab. In the final thirty seconds Ford again rocked Kholmatov with a left uppercut on the chin evening the fight at this point.

In the ninth round Kholmatov came back to take a close round. In the tenth round both had their moments with Ford finishing the stronger of the two.

In the eleventh rounds halfway point Ford was cut under the left eye due to a clash of heads. In a close round Ford seemed to pull it out. In the twelfth and final rounds final thirty seconds Ford landed a left uppercut on the chin hurting Kholmatov. He followed with a right driving Kholmatov into the ropes preventing a knockdown as referee Fitch wisely called a halt.

In co-Main Event IBF World Featherweight champ Luis El Venado” Lopez, 30-2 (17), #125.3, of Mexicali, Baja CA, MEX, stopped Japanese champ southpaw Reiya Abe, 25-4-1 (10), #125.8, of Yamato, Kanagawa, JAP, at 0:39 of the eighth round of a scheduled 12 rounds.

In the second round a left from Lopez to the right eye of Abe did quite a bit of damage. It was all Lopez with the right eye of Abe closing in the fourth. In the seventh round Lopez continued battering Abe. In the eighth round Referee Mark Nelson saw enough and called a halt.

WBO Int’l Welter champ Brian “The Assassin ll” Norman, Jr., 25-0-1 no dec (19), #147.2, of Conyers, GA, in a no decision Janelson Figueroa Bocachica, 17-2-1-no dec (11), #146.6, of Detroit, MI, after 4 rounds of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the first round due to a clash of heads Bocachica was cut badly over his left eye. In the final ten seconds Norman came in for the kill and got dropped with a counter right on the chin for an 8-count from Referee Benjy Esteves, Jr. In the third round Bocachica cut Norman under the right eye with and elbow. In the fourth round Bocachica suffered a cut over and under left eyebrow. After the fourth round the ring physician called a halt due to both having injuries.

2020 Olympian Welter Rohan Polanco, 12-0 (7), #142.9, of Santo Domingo, DR, defeated Tarik “El Camello” Zaina, 13-1-1 (8), #142.4, of Tangier, MOR, Tijuana, Baja CA, MEX, over 8 rounds.

In the first round it was all Zaina outworking and out landing Polanco who was the aggressor but landing few punches. In the second round with half a minute remaining of a round it was Polanco having an edge landing a right to the chin rocking Zaina. In the third round it was close with Zaina drawing blood from the nose of Polanco.

In the fourth round Polanco the harder puncher but not as busy as Zaina in a close round. In the fifth round Zaina countered well taking the round switching at times to southpaw. In the sixth round another close round with Polanco going for the big punch while Zaina lands more punches.

In the seventh round after a minute the lights went out. With a minute remaining what looked like a push down was scored a knockdown for Polanco and an 8-count from Referee Benjy Esteves, Jr.

In the eighth and final round with a minute remaining a wild right uppercut from Polanco on the chin dropped Zaina for an 8-count from referee Esteves. Zaina was able to get to the bell losing the round.

Scores were 78-72, 79-71 twice. 76-73 KH.

Middle Troy “Transformer” Isley, 11-0 (5), #159.3, of Alexandria, VA, stopped Marcos “Madman” Hernandez, 16-7-2 (3), #160.6, of Fresno, CA, at 1:30 of the seventh round of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first four rounds Isley out punched Hernandez round after round. In the fifth round Referee Mark Nelson took a look at Hernandez close to stopping.

In the seventh round an overhand right from Isley on the chin and down went Hernandez rolling on the canvas beat the count but referee Mark Nelson saw enough and halted the match.

Bantam Floyd “Cashflow” Diaz, 11-0 (3), #118, of Las Vegas, NV, defeated Edwin “Puto” Rodriguez, 12-8-2 (5), #117.8, of Juana Diaz, PR, 8 rounds.

In the first three rounds Diaz and an edge. In the fourth round with blood pouring from his nose Diaz from solid jabs by Rodriguez. In the seventh and eighth and final round it went back and forth in a slugfest with Diaz getting the better of it.

Referee Charlie Fitch. Scores 80-72, 79-73, 78-74.

Heavy Brandon Moore, 14-0 (8), #242, of Lakeland, FL, defeated Helaman Olguin, 9-6-1 (4), #288.7, of MEX, South Jordan, UT, over 8 rounds.

In the first four rounds it was sloppy with Moore dominating. In the final four rounds it continued with Moore dominating.

All scores were 80-72.

Super Light Bryce Mills, 15-1 (5), #138.7, of Liverpool, NY, defeated Gerffred “The Authentic” Ngayot, 6-2 (5), #138.7, of Congo, Buffalo, NY, over 6 rounds.

In the first three rounds Mills had too much power in a competitive three rounds. In the final three rounds Mills continued over powering Ngayot.

Referee Charlie Fitch. Scores 58-56 and 60-54 twice.

Middle Nico Ali Walsh, 9-1 (5), #156.9, of Las Vegas, NV, defeated Luke Iannuccilli, 7-1 (3), #155.5, of Methuen, MASS, 6 rounds.

In the first three rounds Walsh dominated outworking Iannuccilli. In the final three rounds his domination continued.

Referee Mark Nelson. Scores 60-54 twice and 59-55.
