In a low-key yet thrilling card, hosted by Red Owl Boxing and presented live on DAZN, 15-2 Edward Vazquez is set to headline his first fight since losing to IBF titleholder Joe Cordina last November. The card begins at 8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. UK with the main event set to begin at 11 p.m. ET / 4 a.m.

Taking place in Houston, Texas, Vazquez will be looking to assert himself against Daniel Bailey (13-1), a fighter looking for a recognisable name to add to his record. More notable for his amateur losses to the likes of Keyshawn Davis than his wins – both amateur and professional – Bailey is an opponent that Vazquez believes will get him back into winning ways.

Vazquez will be looking to set himself up as a top contender in the division, with his only losses in the super featherweight division coming by way of the aforementioned Joe Cordina, as well as a loss to current WBA World Featherweight champion Raymond Ford. This bout will determine if Vazquez can work his way back to the higher echelons of his division, or if Bailey can get an established name on his record.

The co-main event is yet another exciting bout, with former North American Boxing Federation Super Featherweight titleholder Eridson Garcia, an interesting southpaw set to increase his 18-1 record – should he get through the 17-0 Maliek ‘Mayhem’ Montgomery.

The more experienced 29 year old Garcia will be interested in regaining a title shot, although Montgomery will be a tricky challenge; despite a lack of professional names, he fought such names as Teofimo Lopez and Jermaine Ortiz in the amateur ranks. With this, the eight round contest will generate excitement on the Friday card.

Also of note is Emanuel Moreno, currently the tender age of 19, who captured the USA Oklahoma State Lightweight title in only his fourth bout – and the featherweight variant in his sixth. An extremely exciting fighter, ‘El Trompo’ will be taking on Luis Alberto Lopez (6-2) in yet another test of the early developing boxer’s skill.
