WBO light welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez called out Terence Crawford after his controversial win over Jamaine Ortiz on Thursday night in Las Vegas. The Nevada judges gave Teofimo the decision by the scores 117-111, 115-113, and 115-113.

Sounding a little unhinged after his dubious decision win, Teofimo (20-1, 13 KOs) says he wants to face unified welterweight champion Crawford at a catchweight, which was immediately rejected by him.

Crawford Dismisses Catchweight Offer

“Catchweight what? This guy is crazy, but he knows what’s up he just trying to use my name for promotion,” said Crawford on X, reacting to Teofimo calling for a catchweight fight.

“People gotta understand the game is called “BOXING” and not “FIGHTING”!!!Hit and not get hit. But I guess a lot of y’all don’t know what that means because when y’all see a fighter boxing, the first thing y’all say is he running,” said Crawford, defending Jamaine Ortiz’s performance.

Teofimo Lopez: “Yeah, yeah, ya’ll can boo all you want,” said Teofimo during the post-fight interview with ESPN Boxing moments after his controversial win over Jamaine Ortiz on Thursday night.

“None of these guys want to fight me. I’ll fight Crawford at a catchweight. We’re talking about a lightweight over here,” said Teofimo when told that Keyshawn Davis wants to fight him next. Vasily Lomachenko told me, ‘If you want to fight me, you got to get a world title.’ Go get a world title.

“If you want to fight the King, go get a world title. I’m not going to give it to you guys. You guys want it easy. Everybody wants it easy. The only thing easy here is my skills.

“We cannot claim for one second these fighters that don’t want to fight. You go to blood, sweat, and tears. The code of conduct. The Sugar Ray Robinson award. If you’re not ready for this life, get the [bleep] out of my sport.
