Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) was off his leash today, taking shots at Devin Haney with the announcement of their fight on April 20th on DAZN.
In an interview, Ryan labeled WBC light welterweight champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) a “fake,” a double-dealing sneaky person who pretended he was his friend to soften him up.
Ryan also took aim at Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, who says he is a “real-life dummy” for choosing not to fight him for $20M+ in the main event and instead is fighting for “peanuts” on an undercard against Isaac Cruz,
Shots Fired at Haney
“These dudes try to make you super soft by smiling in your face and be super nice to you, and then stab you in the back when it’s time,” said Ryan Garcia to Compas on The Beat, talking about Devin Haney.
“I’m not going to let that happen. I see right through you. You’re a fake; you’re a phony. You’re dad’s a phony, and everyone around you is a phony.”
Ryan doesn’t trust Haney as far as he can throw him and doesn’t want to bother dealing with the treachery.
“I talked to him on the phone, and he was being extra nice. I caught that. ‘Calm down, we’re not friends, bro. Don’t try to soften me up. You’re a weirdo.
‘The ‘Done Deal’ and Vegas Buzz
“It’s signed, sealed, and delivered,” said Ryan Garcia when asked if his fight with Haney is a ‘Done deal.’ “Potentially,” said Kingry when asked if the fight will be at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“I left it to the fans. It was a close poll between Devin Haney and Rolly. Obviously, Devin came out with the percentage on top, and I decided to make it happen.
No Love for Rolly
“You never heard a more dummy, who went from the main event to a random PPV card that nobody is going to watch and fumbled a bag of $20M+ to fight for peanuts,” said Ryan about Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, who chose to fight Isaac Cruz on March 30th instead of him.
If Rolly loses the fight against Pitbull Cruz, he’s going to be crying crocodile tears, wishing he’d taken the match against Ryan when he had the chance.
