Terence Crawford posted a playful message on social media, reacting to Keith Thurman and Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero standing together to jointly announce their March 30th event on Amazon Prime PPV at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Crawford saw Rolly sounding girlfriend-like.
The way ‘One Time’ Thurman and Rolly were standing, they looked like couples. Crawford just couldn’t resist taking a shot at the two of them, standing side by side with their rehearsed sales pitch.
Crawford Mocks Thurman & Romero
“I was the mandate. I don’t know what they do in Mexico with the gavel. I was mandated to fight ‘The Truth’ [former IBF, WBA & WBC welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.], and the truth is, he never got to see Keith Thurman,” said Thurman during the kickoff press conference last Wednesday to announce his fight with Tim Tszyu.
Thurman’s Truth Bombs
“The truth is, Crawford never got to see Keith Thurman. The truth is if it was Thurman vs. Spence, y’all should know what would have happened that night [last July, the night that Crawford stopped Spence in the ninth round].
“The truth is if it was Thurman vs. Crawford, it would have been a whole another fight. I’m the guy that said it to you way back in the day. I got an O; I’m not afraid to let it go. ‘One Time’ has been beat one time. Who is going to get me two times?” said Thurman.
It seems pretty clear that Thurman wants a shot at Crawford after his fight against Tszyu next month. The only way that’s going to happen is if Thurman upsets Tszyu, and even if he does, Tim’s promoters will push for an immediate rematch.
What a fight that would be, though, Crawford vs. Thurman. If ‘One Time’ can do his part by upsetting Tszyu, we could see a fight between Thurman and Crawford. That would be a huge PPV match-up on Amazon Prime PPV.
