Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford is back in the gym after five months of enjoying his win over Errol Spence Jr. last July.

Sporting a new Elvis Presley hairdo, the 36-year-old unified welterweight champion Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) posted on social media, “Back to business as usual,” which suggests that he could have a fight in the pipeline that he’s looking at.

Crawford’s dreams of getting the Canelo Alvarez payday fight could remain unfulfilled, and he needs to temper his ambitions for the golden parachute retirement fight and come down to earth.

Will Crawford Face the Jaron Ennis Storm?

It was great that Errol Spence blessed Crawford with his first mega-fight of his career, but hopefully, it hasn’t spoiled the Omaha, Nebraska native, making him think there’s an unending stream of mega-fights that will be available to him.

The fight that Crawford has the best chance of getting in the short term is unbeaten IBF welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, the IBF welterweight champion, who many fans feel is the guy who will use Terence as his stepping stone opponent, just like Floyd Mayweather Jr. utilized Oscar De La Hoya as a tool to become a superstar.

Will Crawford turn up his nose at the idea of fighting Boots for fear of losing and wind up taking a lower payday fight? It could be

Hopefully, Crawford isn’t holding a torch, waiting for Canelo to bless him the way Spence did, because the Mexican star has already said many times that he’s not interested in taking that fight because there’s no gain. Canelo already beat a smaller guy, Jermell Charlo, last May and got zero credit from fans after beating him.

“Back to business as usual!!!” said Terence Crawford on Instagram today, showing a picture of him in the gym after five and a half months since his last fight in July against Errol Spence Jr.

Crawford Focused on Business

“I definitely don’t think Crawford is scared. It was to make sense for him financially because right now, it’s business for him,” said Danny Garcia to Fighthype when asked if he thinks Terence Crawford will ever fight Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, the IBF welterweight title.

“He’s 36-years-old. He’s 40-0, with a great resume in two divisions, and he probably feels this is basically [Boots Ennis] skipping levels when he earned that spot,” said Danny Garcia on why Crawford is showing no interest in facing Boots (31-0, 28 KOs), even though it’s the biggest fight available to him.

“In boxing, everything has to make sense, and I think for Crawford, he feels it don’t make sense [to fight Jaron Ennis]. Everybody wants to get paid millions. So, I feel like it’s harder to make these fights,” said Garcia.
