Bill Haney Blasts Teofimo: “Stop Talking Bud Crawford, Act Like You Got Some Sense”

Devin Haney’s dad, Bill, took to social media, blasting Teofimo Lopez over his callout of superstar Terence Crawford, saying that he needs to “talk some sense” and fight Devin next in a unification clash at 140.

Like Ryan Garcia, Teofimo has no interest in fighting Haney after the leaked 50K PPV numbers for his recent fight against Regis Prograis. Haney needs Teofimo to increase his popularity, but he won’t help him because there’s no gain for him.

Bill suggests that WBO light welterweight champion Teofimo’s attempt at hustling a fight against Crawford is just a pipe dream, with no realistic chance of happening, mainly because of his unrealistic purse demands.

If Teofimo wanted $20 million to fight Devin, you can only imagine what his asking price would be for a fight against Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs), who is riding high after his ninth round knockout win over unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. last July.

“Act Like You Got Some Sense”: Haney Calls Out Lopez

“Teofimo Lopez, if you don’t knock it off, talking about you want Bud Crawford. I just seen you and your daddy, and I yelled, ‘Why didn’t we offer you $20 million.’ So you can imagine what you’d be talking about to fight Bud Crawford,” said Bill Haney on social media, talking about Teofimo Lopez’s recent callout of superstar Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford.

Bill views it as laughable for Teofimo to ignore Devin, trying to go after the bigger payday against Crawford, which he has next to no chance of getting. Teofimo’s asking price for a fight against Crawford would likely be astronomical, out of this world. Would Teo’s promoters at Top Rank be willing to pay the guaranteed purses?

Unification: A Closer, More Realistic Fight

“Listen, act like you got some sense. You hear that money counter in the background. Act like you got some sense, and we can make Haney vs. Lopez for that 140-pound unification,” said Bill.

“Yeah, baby. Act like you got some sense, and stop talking about Bud Crawford. You don’t want none of Bud Crawford, and you don’t deserve none. Knock it off, talk like you got some sense,” said Bill Haney.

Teofimo wants the big money that would come from a fight with Crawford, as he’s well aware of the reported PPV numbers for Devin’s recent fight against Prograis, and he sees him not worth fighting.
