Jake Paul (6-1, 4KO’s) is raring to go, keen to bounce back after his split-decision defeat against Tommy Fury. This Cleveland-born boxer has been hitting the gym hard, vowing to silence his doubters with a KO against Diaz.

But it’s not gonna be a walk in the park. Paul is facing off against MMA superstar, Nate Diaz, who is making his boxing debut. Diaz has been turning heads in the combat sports world and holds a record of 22 professional victories, including a memorable KO win over Conor McGregor.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Jake Paul said:

“I feel good, man… Most prepared I’ve ever been. The best training camp, new team…in shape, ready for 10 rounds. On weight, and everything’s perfect,” Paul said.

Despite being a boxing novice, Paul holds a distinct advantage over his opponent Nate Diaz, a seasoned MMA fighter. When asked about this perceived edge, Paul recognized the inherent differences between the two combat sports.

“It’s true man, it’s two different sports and people want to say I’m a boxer and they don’t want to say he’s a boxer…but on Saturday, people are going to see me outbox this MMA fighter,” Paul quipped.

As the anticipation builds for his upcoming fight, Paul emphasized his sheer will to win.

“I have to win. You know, everything’s on the line…my career, losing two in a row, you just can’t do that in boxing,” Paul explained.

There’s no denying that Paul has a lot on his plate, from running a venture capital firm to promoting fighters. Yet, he remains steadfast in his commitment to boxing, regardless of the potential risk of defeat.

“Boxing has my heart, and so I don’t think I’ll ever just hang the gloves up,” Paul stated emphatically.

When asked why he needs to fight Nate Diaz, Paul emphasized his love for the challenge that boxing presents.

“I love the challenge, the routine, the discipline, and the focus that boxing gives me…the glory of winning, it’s really addicting,” Paul shared.

Paul addressed the critics who question his legitimacy as a boxer, asking them to give him a chance to prove himself.

“I’ve taken really tough fights…I step up to the plate against a kid who’d been boxing since he was six years old from a legendary bloodline. I’m sparring world champions in the gym. I dedicate my whole entire life to this,” Paul stated.

Talking about his previous opponent, Tommy Fury, Paul didn’t mince words.

“I just think that he’s a punk, a bully… No one’s ever been there to really embarrass him, and that’s what I plan on doing,” Paul expressed.

One of the most tantalizing prospects in the boxing world right now is a potential clash between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor. When asked about this, Paul expressed optimism about the bout, albeit with some reservation about McGregor’s contractual obligations.

“If he [McGregor] stays out of trouble… I’m my own boss, so I can do what I want. He can’t, he has to get Dana’s permission…It’s really up to Dana [White],” Paul explained.

Jake Paul left us with a powerful prediction about his performance in the upcoming fight against Diaz.

“You’re gonna see the most poised, calm boxer Jake Paul that you’ve ever seen…sharp, everything’s on point. Skill, technique, cardio, and this will be my breakout performance,” Paul confidently asserted.
