Spence did damage to Crawford in sparring says Shane Mosley

By Chris Williams: Shane Mosley says Errol Spence Jr hurt Terence Crawford and “did some damage” to him during a sparring session they had a while back.

After hearing Mosley leak what took place during a Spence-Crawford sparring session, it confirms what many boxing fans already suspected. Spence is going to smoke Crawford on July 29th.

It makes sense for Spence not to have let the cat out of the bag by bringing up his old sparring session for a couple of reasons:

1. If Spence mentioned how he damaged Crawford in sparring, fans would be less interested in purchasing the fight on PPV. It would be a colossal mistake for Spence to let fans know that he worked Crawford over because they’d be less willing to purchase the Spence-Crawford event for $84.99 on Showtime PPV.

2. It was sparring, and what happens in training is supposed to be kept secret. Spence has a lot of class, and he’s not the type to want to talk about beating up someone in sparring.

While it is sparring, if Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) did damage to Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) in sparring, it suggests he’ll do the same thing when they meet up on July 29th in their headliner on Showtime PPV at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“I can only go by what I heard that Spence kind of did some damage to Crawford when they sparred,” said Shane Mosley to Showbizz about how Errol Spence Jr did “some damage” when he sparred Terence Crawford.

“It’s going to be hard for him to fight with a guy he’s been in the ring with before, and they both know each other. They both know what’s going on,” said Mosley.

WBO welterweight Crawford is a great fighter, but if he’s been handled by Spence in sparring, the chances are the same thing will happen when they fight. Coming events cast their shadows before.

The Nebraska native Crawford doesn’t have the best chin, so it’s not surprising for Errol to have gotten the better of him in sparring.

Crawford is going to switch stances frequently during the fight, trying to confuse Spence. The danger in doing that is Crawford could get caught while he’s needlessly switching stances the way he does.

“I had my eye on him since 2017,” said Spence about Crawford.

It took this long for Spence to get Crawford in the ring finally, and he’s lucky he could finally geet this fight made before moving up to 154.
