Shakur Stevenson says Keyshawn Davis should take Andy Cruz fight

By Charles Brun: Shakur Stevenson wants Keyhawn Davis to call promoter Eddie Hearn’s bluff by agreeing to fight Andy Cruz in his pro debut in July.

The 2020 Olympic gold medalist from Cuba will find out the hard way the difference between the amateur game and the professional.

Keyshawn thinks that the reason Hearn is in such a mad hurry to rush Andy Cruz into tough fights at 135 is that he’s so old. Cruz is between 33 and 38, says Keyshawn, so Hearn has no choice but to rush him before he ages out completely.

Shakur thinks Hearn is “bluffing” about wanting to throw Cruz in with lightweight contender Keyshawn (8-0, 6 KOs) right away because it’s a whole different sport from amateurs to professional ranks.

Stevenson says Keyshawn should make the Andy Cruz fight for twelve rounds, and give him a welcome to the pro ranks.

Keyshawn should call Hearn’s bluff

“He bluffing. It’s no way he believes in an amateur fighter that much. Professional boxing is way different c’mon now,” said Shakur Stevenson on Twitter, reacting to Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn saying he wants his new signee Andy Cruz to fight Keyshawn Davis in his pro debut in July.

“Y’all doing all this hooping & hollering over one man and he’s not even from America,” said Keyshawn Davis on social media about boxing fans making a big fuss over Andy Cruz.

“This man must have more than two arms because goddamn. Ever since this man turned pro, my s**t has been going crazy. I heard DAZN and Eddie Hearn are trying to set up a debut for this man.

“See, I don’t want to say too much because there’s nothing to say. I know we’re going to rumble. This is not no Frank Martin situation. This is not even no Marc Castro situation,” Keyshawn said,

Davis ready to fight Andy Cruz

“I’m not even going to say too much. Y’all know we’re going to rumble,” said Keyshawn. They’re doing all this over one man. Do you see this s**t? About one man, and then when y’all go back and watch the fights, the s**t was like [close] the whole time,” said Keyshawn about his four fights with Andy Cruz, which were almost impossible to score, as they were very close.

“Y’all think this man beat my a**. It’s all good. Amateur s**t. We’re pro now. We’re cracking now. We’re not doing this, pitty-pat, I’ll slap you, slap back s**t no more. This is not the Olympics. This is real boxing here.

“For me, when you fight me, I fight. I don’t box. I fight when I go in there. He’s [Andy Cruz] going to prance around Leprechaun style. Once I land that bomb on him, it’s not going to be no buckle. It’s going to be, ‘Get the medic.’ Tell Eddie Hearn to call my promoter. Don’t Tweet,” said Davis.

Eddie changed his tune

“Remember, this was the same man that was going so crazy about me,” Keyshawn said. “Now, if I had signed with him, Eddie Hearn would you be saying all this s**t right here? Eddie Hearn, you’re a hell of a promoter, but this is the same man that was going so crazy about me. Now all of a sudden, he was beating me so easy in the Olympics.

“It’s easy now, oh s**t. Do y’all see how this s**t works? This is the same man that was going so crazy about me now. He was about to sign me. Now all of a sudden he signs the ops. He’s off form. This man is crazy.

“‘Keith, your father Andy Cruz is back.’ Like damn. Come on, man. There’s only so much a person can take within a year of his career. That’s why I Tweeted today. S**t is going to really get real when I become a world champion.

“I ain’t a world champion yet, and all this hooping & hollering and all this static is going on. I was causing all this static as soon as I hit the 135 division. Now it’s Andy Cruz’s turn. Watch how I stop him,” said Davis.

Andy Cruz is old

“I’m going to stop this man. I’m going to stop him. Another thing you’re not hooping & hollering about,” said Keyshawn.  “This man [Andy Cruz] is older than Gervonta Davis, and he’s not even pro yet. You’re saying he’s going to take over the 135 division, and he’s the oldest fighter.

“This guy is so fragile. He’s been beating up on kids this whole time in the amateurs, but he’s so great. He’s been beating my a** this whole time in the amateurs, but he’s so great. I’m like eight years younger than him. He’s old as hell.

“This guy is old. He’s got three years of his prime pro. Why do you think Eddie Hearn wants him to fight me so quick. You better because the longer you wait, the worse it gets for y’all. Not for me.

“So you know what I’m going to do. Lay on him. He’s got to catch up. He beat me four times. He still got to catch up. How the runner-up is doing way better than the champion? Tell him to catch up. I’m going to lay on him, man.

“He’s got to catch up to me if he wants to fight me. Tell him to catch up. Tell Eddie Hearn to call my promoter. You really want to fight? Tell Eddie Hearn to call my promoter. Call him. I got twelve rounds of whooping this man’s a**.

“Eddie Hearn, you don’t believe he can beat me. You just want the fight to happen. You don’t believe he can beat Tank for real. You just want the fight to happen because he’s [Andy Cruz] because he’s like 33, 38-years-old. This guy is like two years younger than Rigondeaux. Rigondeaux just retired last year.

“Man, I heard he’s Rigondeaux’s uncle. That guy looks like Rigondeaux. I ain’t mad. Y’all know how I rock. Y’all know how I  fight. So y’all can talk all that s**t you want to. Tell Andy Cruz that he better turn his punches over when he fight. That’s all I’m saying,” Keyshawn said.

Cruz has got to turn his punches over

“Y’all know how I get down. Tell that little dude to turn his punches over like Tank,” said Keyshawn. “Tell him to watch some more Gervonta. Tell him to watch some more American boxing because all that pitty pat s**t that he became gold medalist off of. He ain’t going to become a world champion over here.

“Gold medal and world champion is a big difference. Kill that Cuban s**t. You can bring that Cuban s** over here. I know you’re training. I know you’re out in Philly. I know you’re out on the East Coast. There ain’t nothing for me to pull up. I know where you’re at.

“I know where you’re at out in Philly. It ain’t nothing for me to pull up where you’re at. It aain’t nothing for me to pull up and see what you’re on. I said as soon as he crawled out from under his rock, I’m going to know to drop on his a**.

“We already know where you’re at, and we know your manager. We know everything about you. We might get a little sparring session in. A little slap boxing session real quick outside the ring. A little wrestling match,” said Keyshawn.
