Statement from Golden Boy Promotions regarding Gilberto Ramirez vs. Gabriel Rosado*:

“Due to Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez failing to make the contracted weight, Zurdo vs. Rosado has been canceled. We are very disappointed for letting our fans down, and will work with Gabriel Rosado to bring him back to the ring very soon. Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr. vs. Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta is the new main event for Saturday, March 18.”

Diaz, Jr. vs. Gesta is a 12-round super lightweight fight presented by Golden Boy Promotions. The fight night will take place on Saturday, March 18 and will be broadcast on DAZN worldwide.

  • Time : 8 p.m. ET / 12 a.m. GMT (Sunday)
  • Diaz vs Gesta will stream live on DAZN in over 200 countries across the globe.
  • The fight will take place at Walter Pyramid, Long Beach, California, USA.
  • Main event ringwalks (approx): 11 p.m. ET / 3 a.m. GMT (Sunday)
  • The main card is set to get underway at 8 p.m. ET / 12 a.m. GMT with the main event ringwalks scheduled for 11 p.m. ET / 3 a.m. GMT.

As the countdown continues to Saturday, March 18, Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez (44-1, 30 KOs) of Mazatlan, Mexico and Philadelphia’s Gabriel “King” Rosado (26-16-1, 15 KOs) hosted a press conference at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach. Their 12-round light heavyweight fight will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN beginning at 5:00 p.m. PST/ 8:00 p.m. EST. The Golden Boy Fight Night: Zurdo vs. Rosado Prelims will be streamed live on the Golden Boy Boxing YouTube page beginning at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET.

The Walter Pyramid in Long Beach will host the “can’t miss” matchup featuring former world champion Ramírez and Rosado.

Tickets for Zurdo vs. Rosado go on sale Friday, February 17, at 10:00 a.m. PST and are priced at $150, $100, $80, $50 and $30 not including applicable service charges. Tickets will be available for purchase at LongBeachState.com/GoldenBoy and GoldenBoyPromotions.com

Returning for redemption after his loss against William Zepeda in October 2022, former world champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr. (32-3-1, 15 KOs) will face former world title challenger Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (33-3-3, 17 KOs) as the co-main event. The two veterans will participate in a 12-round lightweight fight.
