John Fury plans for Tommy: “Rematch Jake Paul in Saudi”
By Charles Brun: John Fury is eager for his son Tommy Fury to get a rematch with Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia after he already beat him on Sunday night.
John isn’t saying why he wants Tommy (9-0, 4 KOs) to get a rematch, but it’s safe to say that after the bag that the 23-year-old made against the popular YouTuber Jake (6-1, 4 KOs), he sees the dollar figures inside his head.

Will Jake give Tommy a rematch?
If you’re Jake Paul, why would you want to give a runner like Tommy Fury a second payday? Jake has got to know what Tommy will be doing in the rematch. He’s going to do a variation of these things to avoid getting knocked out:
1. Running
2. Clinching
3. Holding & hitting
4. Rabbit punching
Jake should forget about Tommy Fury, and focus on fighting the opposition that will get him ready to fight the world class guys. The top 15 fighters don’t spoil like Tommy. They actually stand and fight.
“Well, listen, Jake Paul put up a good fight. It was a good fight for the fans. It was a good clash in the desert. Let’s hope there are more big fights in Saudi,” said John Fury to Fight Hub TV.
“Jake Paul plays his part. He was under a lot of pressure, Tommy. They were calling him out for two years, saying he was no good. But what heart the kid showed under duress pressure,” John Fury continued.
“Yeah, because Jake Paul is very good, Jake Paul is a strong kid. He comes from awkward angles. I told Tommy, ‘Listen, it may turn into a dogfight. We’re prepared for it. Jake Paul played his part. Let’s do it again in Saudi Arabia.
“I think the referee did a good job. He was right to take points away from both of them. The sky’s the limit. Rematch, rematch Jake Paul in Saudi,” said John when asked where does Tommy go from here.
John sounds desperate for the rematch for Tommy against Jake, doesn’t he? He’s got to know what will happen to Tommy if he fights top 20 competition because it would be bad for him.
Tommy would lose to all those guys because they would know how to cut off the ring, hit him in the bread basket with spearing jabs while he’s running, and they’d fight through his excessive clinching. They wouldn’t just let Tommy clinch without braining him at point-blank range.
Tommy Fury not ready to fight top tier competition
Although he’s not saying it, John likely never fought the limited Tommy Fury would make the kind of money he did on Sunday night against Jake Paul, as he’s not exactly a great talent.
You can’t throw Tommy Fury in with any of the top five cruiserweights because he’ll get decimated, and his career over with. Without Jake Paul giving Tommy Fury another payday, what options does he really have?
John Fury isn’t going to throw Tommy in with the talented cruiserweights Lawrence Okolie, Richard Riakporhe, or any of the top 175-pounders like Dmitry Bivol or Artur Beterbiev. He knows what’ll happen to Tommy if he fights any of those guys, and it’s not just because he’s young and lacks experience. Tommy doesn’t have the ability.

It’s just not there. He’d be food for those fighters, and it wouldn’t help if he ran around the ring all night and clinched like mad to survive as he did against Jake Paul. They’d still get him and likely very, very early and leave him on the canvas in a heap.
Tommy WASN’T fighting the top 15 opposition before Jake showed interest in giving him a payday, and he won’t start fighting them now. In his five-year professional career, Tommy has not demonstrated the ability to compete with world class opposition.
One hates to break this to the casuals, but Jake Paul isn’t world class. So for Tommy to beat him, it’s not a big deal, and the way he did, it was so awful with the nonstop clinching & running around the ring for the entire eight rounds.
Tommy can’t punch, and he looked scared as heck, running around the ring all night, unwilling to stand his ground against a Youtuber.
If Tommy cant even knockdown or knockout a Youtuber like Jake, what chance would he have against a quality cruiserweight like Lawrence Okolie or Richard Riakporhe?
