By Dan Ambrose: Regis Prograis says Ryan Garcia is like a barking dog, and he needs to worry about what’s coming for him in his April fight against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis rather than focusing on him.
Prograis this the Tank vs. Ryan fight will be competitive early, but then it’s going to end badly for Garcia with him getting put to sleep by Davis.
Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) took a shot at WBC light welterweight champion Prograis (28-1, 24 KOs) on social media recently, calling him “slow.” Prograis doesn’t see Ryan going in the direction of fighting him now that he’s campaigning in the 140-lb division.
Besides, he feels Ryan is going to get knocked out by Tank Davis, and after that, his career is going to be in trouble. It might take years for Ryan to come back from a devastating loss to Tank.
“That’s all bull s**t. People know they’re not going to fight you, so they just going to talk,” said Regis Prograis to Fighthype about the trash-talk from Ryan Garcia, who called him slow. “It’s like the dog at the gate.
“When that gate is closed, that dog will bark a lot. When that gate is open, they know some s**t can happen. They going to stop all that s**t.
“That’s all talk, bro. I think Ryan is all talk. He’s got to worry about Tank. He ain’t got to worry about me no more anyway. Ryan needs to worry about Tank because I think Tank is going to knock him out anyway.
“I think it’s going to be a good fight while it lasts,” Prograis said about the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight. “I feel like they’re going to go back and forth.
“I feel like Ryan is going to get some good hits on Tank, but Tank has got the sleeping pill, and he’s probably going to stop him. He do, but not like Tank,” said Prograis when asked if Ryan has the huge power to knock guys out like Tank.
“I think he does, but I think Tank has a better chin, and he’s going to take that stuff [from Ryan]. Listen, I think Ryan Garcia is an okay fighter. He’s fast, and he does have power, but I just think Tank is better,” said Prograis.
