Eddie Hearn predicts Tyson Fury won’t fight Oleksandr Usyk because he’s not getting $500 million

By Charles Brun: Eddie Hearn says he doesn’t think Tyson Fury will face Oleksandr Usyk next because he WON’T receive his $500 million asking price for the fight.

Indeed, Hearn says the money that Fury will be offered will be far less than the $500M that he’s insisting on getting.

Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), who some boxing fans feel has been transformed into a greedy troll, is going to intentionally price himself out of the fight against IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) for fear of getting humiliated worse than Anthony Joshua did in his two defeats against the talented Ukrainian.

The way for Fury to get out of the Usyk fight is by setting a ridiculously high price of $500M, which will never be agreed on, and then telling the fans that he tried to make the fight.

“A lot of money. That’s always been the aim for them to stage the undisputed championship,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV when asked if Saudi Arabia will try and stage the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury fight.

“What does Fury want? A half a billion? Well, he’s not getting anywhere near that kind of money, so maybe he doesn’t take the fight. I’m not so sure that he does.”

I have to agree with every word that Hearn is saying here. Fury doesn’t want the fight with Usyk because he knows he can’t beat him. As such, he’s chirping about wanting $500 million, and he’ll stand by that mark just so he doesn’t have to fight Usyk.

“If he’s [Fury] a man of his word, and we all know he isn’t, then a half a billion or he’s not fighting, then there it is,” said Hearn. “He’s not fighting because he’s not getting a half billion, nowhere near.

“He’s not negotiating with any governments. He’s setting a price and saying he won’t fight for a penny less.

“Some people put up clickbait. My line the other day was. I don’t think it’s a very entertaining fight [between Fury and Usyk], but I think it’s an intriguing fight. I don’t think their styles are going to make for a great fight, but it’s very intriguing.

“You’ve got two geniuses in the ring. I just think Usyk is very difficult to beat, and I give him the edge. I’d love to watch it, and I hope it happens,” said Hearn.
