By Ken Hissner: At the Fantasy Springs Casino, at Indio, California, Thursday over DAZN Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions) in the Main Event presented unbeaten Super Lightweight Jouse “Tito” Gonzalez of Covina, California stopping Jose Angulo Ecuador in the third round.

In the Main Event Super Lightweight Jouse “Tito” Gonzalez, 13-0-1 (12), #136 ½, of Covina, CA, stopped Jose Angulo, 14-3 (7), #136 ¼, of Guayaquil, ECU, at 2:29 of the third round of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first two rounds neither boxer had an advantage with Gonzalez the aggressor. In the third round a left to the body from Gonzalez and down went Angulo spitting out his mouthpiece taking the full count from Referee Edward Hernandez Sr.

In the co-feature southpaw Bantamweight Manuel “El Meny” Flores, 13-0 (10), #119 ¾, of Coachella, CA, stopped Daniel Colula Moncada, 15-7-2 (5), #119 ¾, of Mexico City, MEX, at 1:35 of the third round of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first two rounds southpaw Flores used an effective jab coming forward outworking Moncada who landed occasional lead rights to the chin. In the third round a right followed by a solid left on the chin from Flores and down went Moncada on his back for the count from Referee Ray Armendariz.

Olympic southpaw Elnur Abduraimov, 10-0 (9), #129 ½, of Gazalkent, UZB, and Indio, CA, knocked out Leonel “Principe” Moreno, 11-2-1 (9), #135 ¾, of Guadalajara, MEX, at 1:14 of the first round of a scheduled 10 rounds, for the vacant IBF North American Super Featherweight title.

In the first round southpaw Abdurminov stalked using his jab until a left to the body and down went Moreno for the count on his knees from Referee Edward Hernandez, Sr.

Flyweight southpaw Gabriela Fundora, 8-0-1nc (4), #111 ¾, of Coachella, CA, easily defeated Lucia “Marvilla La Policia” Nunez, 7-13 (0), #109, of Mexico City, MEX, over 8×2 rounds.

In the first three rounds the taller Fundora dominated the entire rounds having Nunez against the ropes for the most part with Nunez had swelling under her left eye by the end of the second round. From the fourth through the sixth rounds Fundora continued dominating the smaller gutsy Nunez.

In the seventh round Fundora drew blood from the nose of Nunez having her close to stoppage in a corner continuing to win every round. In the eighth and final round Fundora was trying for a stoppage that wasn’t to come as Nunez kept moving and tying her up. Referee was Ray Armendariz.

Scores were 80-72 as did this writer.  

Super Welterweight Eric Tudor, 5-0 (4), #156 ¾, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, stopped Edgar “Camello” Valenzuela, 7-1 (6), #156 ½, of Agua Prieta, Sonora, MEX, at 2:04 of the second round of a scheduled 6 rounds.

In the first round Tudor was the aggressor who opened up halfway through the round dominating until half a minute left when a right from Valenzuela on the chin stunned Tudor. 

In the second round with over a minute a right to the body from Tudor to the ear dropped Valenzuela for an 8-count from Referee Edward Hernandez, Sr. With a minute left a right from Tudor to the body again dropped Valenzuela for the count on a knee.

Super Flyweight southpaw Jasmine “The Animal” Artiga, 9-0-1 (5), #114 ½, of Tampa, FL, won a split decision over Amy “La Picosita” Salinas, 4-2 (0), #114 ¾, of Las Cruces, NM, over 6×2 rounds.

In the first three rounds after 17 months of inactivity Artiga boxed well moving around the ring with Salinas following finishing the rounds well. 

In the fourth round it action picked up with Salinas taking her first round. In the fifth round Artiga dominating but Salinas always finishing stronger trying to steal the round. In the sixth and final round both let it all hang out with Salinas having the edge at the end. Referee was Ray Armendariz.

Scores were 60-54 Artiga, 58-56 Salinas and 58-56 for Artiga as did this writer.
