In the Main Event Olympic Silver Medalist, WBC Silver, and WBO International heavyweight champ 36-year-old Joe “Juggernaut” Joyce, 14-0 (13), #265 ½, of Putney, London, UK, scored three knockdowns to stop Christian Hammer, 27-10 (17), #263, of Romania and Hamburg, Germany, at 1:20 of the fourth round.

In the first round, Hammer landed half a dozen overhand rights on the chin of Joyce to take the round. In the second round, Hammer again outworked Joyce who is coming back after a year off and looks rusty.

In the third round, Joyce landed a punch behind the head dropping Hammer for an 8-count from Referee Victor Loughlin as the bell sounded.

In the fourth round, Joyce landed a right to the chin to drop Hammer for an 8-count from referee Loughlin. A right to the body and down went Hammer. Joyce again landed a right to the chin for a third knockdown forcing referee Loughlin to wave it off.

In the co-feature IBF Int’l and Commonwealth champ southpaw Jason “The Iceman” Cunningham, 31-7 (7), #121 ¼, of Woodlands, Doncaster, Yorkshire, UK, was stopped by southpaw Zolani “Last Born” Tete, 31-4 (24), #121 ¾, of Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, South Africa, at 0:34 of the fourth round scoring a pair of knockdowns for both the WBO and IBF International and British Commonwealth titles.

In the first three rounds, there was little action with Cunningham’s punches falling short with Tete at least coming forward. In the fourth round, Tete knocked down Cunningham with a left after a jab for an 8-count. He went right after Cunningham landing a combination on the chin dropping him again and forcing Referee Howard Foster to wave it off.

It took Cunningham five minutes to get to the stool. Tete went over and consoled him showing his great concern and sportsmanship.

Lightweight southpaw Mark Chamberlain, 11-0 (7), #134 ¾, of Portsmouth, UK, won a lopsided decision over game Marc Vidal, 13-3-5 (5), #134 ¼, of Castel, Bisbal, SP, over 10 rounds, for vacant IBF European title.

In the first round after thirty seconds, a Chamberlain left to the body hurt Vidal. Coming off the ropes Chamberlain landed a double left on the chin making the knees of Vidal buckle. In the second round, a three-punch combination halfway through the round stopped Vidal in his tracks.

In the third through the fifth rounds, Chamberlain continued landing three punch combinations to the chin of Vidal who never stopped coming forward but absorbed too much punishment.

In the eighth round, Chamberlain had Vidal against the ropes landing over a dozen unanswered punches. In the tenth and final round again it was all Chamberlain almost having game Vidal stopped with a minute left and no one would blame referee Williams if he stopped the brutal beating.

Scores were all 100-90 as was this writer’s score.

20-year-old Cruiserweight southpaw 6:07” Tommy “The Norfolk Nightmare” Fletcher, 1-0 (1), #197, of Attleborough, Norfolk, UK, stopped Aron Vrnoga, 1-1 (0), #193, of Karlovac, CRO, at 0:58 of the first round of a scheduled four.

In the first round, a lead left from Fletcher on the chin dropped Vrnoga for an 8-count by referee Marc McDonnell. Upon rising, Fletcher was all over him with a flurry and down again forcing referee McDonnell to call a halt. Fletcher had a big fan support.
