By Allan Fox: Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis looked confused during his give & take verbal exchange with challenger Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero during the final press conference on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s bout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Tank (26-0, 24 KOs), who doesn’t possess the greatest verbal skills, didn’t appear comfortable with the trash-talking that the more relaxed Rolly (14-0, 12 KOs).

When Rolly got warmed with his insults, Tank looked like he needed saving because he was getting embarrassed by the challenger.

Hopefully, Tank doesn’t come into the ring stomping mad on Saturday night because he’s going to leave himself open for some of Rolly’s big shots that he lands.

With Rolly, every punch he throws has hurtful intentions on them, and it’s going to be difficult for the easy-to-hit Tank to take those shots without going down once or twice.

Rolly Romero: “All Tank does is the same basic pad work as everybody else, and they all end up getting knocked the f*** out eventually when they run into a  puncher,” said Rolly Romero during the final press conference on Thursday.

“It’s just like his bro, Broner against Maidana when he beat the s*** out of Maidana. It’s going to be Broner-Maidana II,” Rolly said.

Tank Davis: “You don’t got the skills of Maidana. You don’t even got them skills.”

Rolly: “Man, I punch harder and I got way more skills than you. [Rolly then imitates Tank’s fighting style while making a silly face].

Tank: “Look at him.”

Rolly: “You don’t have no damn skills in doing all that. The only one that’s doing that s*** is Floyd, and he’s the only one that can do that s***. You can’t do that s*** for s***.”

Tank: “What?”

Rolly: “Oh wait, don’t you get punched in the face by everybody? Didn’t you get punched in the face by [Leo] Santa Cruz and [Isaac] Pitbull Cruz? Pitbull beat the f*** out of you. Shut the f*** up.”

Tank: “I hope he don’t use his elbows. He likes to use elbows.”

The good news is that Tank no longer has to speak with Rolly before their fight this Saturday. Aside from the face-off on Friday at the weigh-in, Tank is done interacting with Rolly.

That’ll save Tank any further embarrassment at the hands of the unbeaten Rolly, who basically scored a knockout on Thursday with his trash-talking.
