By Scott Gilfoid: Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury finally met on Wednesday for a face-off at their final press conference and the two heavyweights looked like old buddies as they stood smiling at one another.

At the start of the face-off, Fury’s father John stepped and words with Whyte, resulting in him and other people on the stage needing to be cleared away.

It’s unknown what John Fury was saying to Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs), but he looked extremely agitated for some reason. Thankfully, Whyte didn’t reach over and swat John a good one because that would have wrecked things for sure.

Interestingly, Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) didn’t talk about his intentions of retiring after this fight.  It’s a good thing that Fury chose to keep quiet about that because it would have made him look like a killjoy.

Dillian says he’ll adapt

“I’m going to have to adapt constantly and do my thing,” said Whyte at the final press conference. “I’ll try my best and adapt.”

It would be best for Whyte to use the same game plan that he had for his rematch with Alexander Povetkin last year because he looked like a machine in that fight.

If Whyte fights like that on Saturday night, Fury is going to need to get off the canvas for sure to have a chance of winning. After the war Fury just went through with the hard-hitting Deontay Wilder last October, we don’t know if his punch resistance is still there.

Deontay had Fury within an eyelash of being knocked out in the fourth round, and he would have finished him in the fifth round if he didn’t gas out completely.

“He’ll fight the best version of Tyson Fury. I’m injury-free,” said Fury. “I think everybody is underestimating how good this fight will be.

“If I’m not on my A-game, this man will knock my head off my shoulder. I’ll have to be my best to beat him, and he’ll have to be his best to beat me,” Fury said.

“I’m not scared to take risks. I’ve taken risks my whole life,” said Whyte.

“It’s not about style with Dillian Whyte. It’s the power,” said Sugarhill Steward. “A few more days, we get to see it all.”

“It cost me a fortune to get this title shot. I need to get some of that money back,” said Whyte.

“It’s going to be a war,” said Frank Warren. “There’s not going to be any given and take. Do not miss it because it’s going to be a classic.”

“It’s going to be a great fight, tune in,” said Fury.
