Anthony Joshua beats Oleksandr Usyk & Tyson Fury says Dereck Chisora

By Charles Brun: Dereck Chisora is picking Anthony Joshua to turn his career around with wins over Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in 2022 to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

The current situation for British heavyweights is looking bleak, with Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) and Chisora sharing the same boat, heading downhill towards retirement.

Whether he likes it or not, another loss for Joshua could be the endgame for him,  and there’s an excellent chance he’ll lose his rematch with IBF/WBA/WBO champion Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs).

That’s why boxing fans have attempted to encourage Joshua to re-think his idea of fighting Usyk in an immediate rematch because it’s such a misguided decision.

It’s as if Joshua has thrown reasoning out the window and is just making his career decisions based on hope. Joshua hopes things will go well for him in the rematch with Usyk, but it isn’t likely that will happen.

Joshua has a secret plan for Usyk rematch

“I think AJ wins that second time around,” Chisora said to TalkSPORT.  “I asked him what he was going to do [in the rematch], he said: ‘You’ll see.‘”

There’s no point in Joshua intentionally acting mysterious about what he plans on doing in the rematch with Usyk because the ENTIRE world knows what he’s going to do.

He’s going to bum rush Usyk from the word go and hope that he can catch him with a big shot before he gasses out in two or three rounds.

It’s so apparent what Joshua’s small plan is for the second fight with the 2012 Olympic gold medalist Usyk, and he and his team know full well that’s what AJ will be doing.

Joshua might as well openly discuss his battle plan for the rematch because there’s no mystery about it. There’s nothing else the big lumbering 6’6″, 245-lb Joshua can do.

If he tries to box Usyk again, he’s going to get taken to school a second time. Joshua can only return to the way he used to fight when his promoter Eddie Hearn was matching him against guys like Gary Cornish, Raphael Zumbano, Michael Sprott, Matt Legg, or Dorian Darch.

Joshua, 32, has lost two out of his last four fights, whereas Chisora has suffered three consecutive defeats. Another defeat for Joshua will give him three in his previous five contests, which will indicate that he has nothing left.

Chisora says Joshua beat Fury

“When you box Tyson Fury, if he steps backward, you instantly step forward, and you’re already in his range,” Chisora said. “If he steps forward and you go backward you’re still in his range because of his reach. You can’t run away!”

I’ll go with AJ. AJ’s power punch is unbelievable. If AJ fights Fury, he has to go on him straight away, blast him out. He can’t box him. If he boxes with him, he loses.

“If you give Fury time on the ball, then you’re in trouble,” said Chisora.

The way Chisora is talking, he’s got some fantasy story-book movie in his head about how Joshua will make things right, beat Usyk & Fury to regain his throne as the #1 fighter in the division.

Unfortunately, the harsh reality is Joshua’s career is sinking rapidly, and he will have to face a tough decision soon.

At this point, there’s an excellent chance that Joshua will lose to Usyk and Fury and find his once-promising career on skidrow at the end of 2022.  Yeah, Joshua can stick around and continue to bring in the dough despite him absorbing repeated losses.

Look at Chisora. He’s been getting beaten routinely over the last 11 years, yet he’s still making excellent money fighting in the UK. This may shock some boxing fans, but Chisora is a millionaire with an estimated net worth of $5 million.

Joshua can keep plugging along, making millions even with him getting beaten long after his promoter Eddie Hearn retires.

With Joshua’s punching power, he can stay around the game into his 40s, as long as he’s matched against the right type of opposition like earlier in his career.
