Rolly Romero: “Kambosos is a Horrible fighter,” says he’s an option

By Sean Jones: Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero says he might use his WBA mandatory status to force a title shot against newly crowned undisputed lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr.

Rolly (14-0, 12 KOs) says the unbeaten Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) is a “horrible fighter” and that he’ll knock him out if he fails to get his much-desired PPV fight against WBA ‘regular’ 135-lb champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis rescheduled.

Rolly, 24, was supposed to be facing Tank (25-0, 24 KOs) on December 5th on Showtime PPV, but he was pulled from the card after allegations surfaced against him.

According to Rolly, previously unbeaten IBF/WBA/WBC Franchise/WBO lightweight champion Teofomo Lopez had a badly injured elbow for his fight with Kambosos last weekend. If not for the injury, Teofimo would have won.

Rolly now has the opportunity, if he chooses, to force Kambosos to defend against him next. If Rolly gets the fight, he can avenge his close friend Teofimo’s loss and use the four titles to get a better deal for a mega-fight against Tank Davis.

Rolando Romero = mandatory for Kambosos

“Rolly isn’t going to let off on the gas pedal, and Rolly is going to find a way to make it happen,” said Rolando Romero on social media on him still wanting to fight Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. “But there are other options now.

Kambosos is a chump; he really is, and he’s a horrible fighter. Kambosos is a horrible fighter. He’s a horrible, horrible fighter, and he’s a pu**** too.

“He [Teofimo] can’t block hooks because of a torn-up elbow, and he can’t throw s***. Rolly would knock Kambosos the f*** [out]. That’s not even a question. Teo would knockout Kambosos in the rematch no problem.

“Kambosos loses to EVERYBODY. Literally to everybody, and I’m his f**** mandatory.  I’m Kambosos’ mandatory, and he loses to everybody. Yeah, Teo really was injured.

I’m Kambosos’ mandatory. Rolly is ranked #1 in the WBA right now. You have no idea, but I still want Tank. F*** belts. I want Tank, man, and I want to be a pay-per-view star.

“But for whatever reason and that s*** don’t happen [against Tank Davis], I’m still ranked #1 with the WBA. I get either one of them; it’s funny. I f*** either one of them up.

“That didn’t change the fact that I still want Gervonta, and I still want to knockout Gervonta. There’s another option now [Kambosos] because I’m technically his [WBA 135-lb] mandatory as well,”  said Rolly Romero.

There’s no question Rolly is in an enviable position right now, but he’s going to have to make up his mind quickly whether he wants the fight with Kambosos.

The Australian fighter’s promoters will be sitting down to pick out his next opponent for early 2022. Unfortunately, Teofimo has already claimed that he’s not interested in a rematch with Kambosos.

The fight that Kambosos says he wants as his Plan-B is the winner of this Saturday’s contest on DAZN between WBC lightweight champion DevinHaney and Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz Jr.

Teofimo was INJURED for Kambosos

Teo was injured, and you could tell from the first round that he was injured,” said Rolly about Teofimo Lopez having fought George Kambosos Jr. with an injury last Saturday night.

“His elbow, you could tell, and I know because I was with Teo a week before, and I touched his elbow, and he was in pain and about to scream,” said Rolly Romero on Teofimo being injured for Kambosos fight.

You could tell something was up with Teofimo’selbow because he wasn’t throwing power shots as he’d done in the past, and he didn’t want to fight in close. It must have been painful each time Teofimo threw or blocked a punch with his injured elbow.
