Deontay Wilder believes Tyson Fury Faked his Covid-19 illness

By Charles Brun: Deontay ‘Bronze Bomber’ Wilder says he doesn’t believe for a second that Tyson Fury was ever sick with COVID-19, and faked his illness because he was getting beaten up by his sparring partners in training camp for their originally scheduled July 24th date.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) says he has a sparring partner in his camp that was beating up Fury as well, and he gave him the lowdown on what was happening.

Wilder isn’t saying who the sparring partner that leaked the information on Fury having a bad camp. At this point, the whole world knows that Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) was having a terrible time in training and that his sparring partners were giving him a hellish time.

That’s what happens to a fighter when they start making a lot of money, as Fury has, and they stop spending time in camp. We saw the change with Fury overnight.

He was arguably transformed into a fop, a dandy, who was more concerned with his clothes and appearance than he was staying in the gym and going through the torture that top fighters do.

It’s hard for a fighter to adjust to becoming a millionaire overnight, and that explains why Fury was getting the worst of it during his sparring sessions with the young lions Jared Anderson and Efe Ajagba, to name just a couple.

Fury was getting beaten up by sparring partners says Deontay

“They’re trying to run away from it, I’m running to it. I don’t believe he had COVID,” said Deontay Wilder to PBC Podcast about him not believing Fury was ever sick with Covid-19.

“He’s been at different places. I know he wasn’t doing well in camp. The young guys were piecing him up. I had a young guy from my camp who was piecing him up. He told me about a lot of stuff,” said Wilder.

It sounds VERY believable what Wilder is saying about Fury getting beaten up by the young guys during his training for their previously scheduled July 24th fight.

The real question is did Fury panic pull out of the fight because of how poor he was doing in training camp rather than him supposedly having COVID-19?

That, we may never know unless Fury has a doctor’s note handy that he can show the boxing public to verify his COVID-19 illness. Oscar De La Hoya was smart to post a video when he was hospitalized with COVID recently.

He was clearly thinking ahead, but we didn’t see a doctor’s note from Fury. If he could show that to the boxing world to verify that he did have COVID-19, fans would be more inclined to believe that was the reason he pulled out of the July 24th fight rather than him getting thrashed by his sparring partners.

“Sparring has been great. There’s been a lot of people on the canvas,” said Wilder.

“The key to victory in this fight is being calm, and having a violent mind,” said Wilder.
