Tyron Woodley: Jake Paul is shaking, he doesn’t believe he can win
By Wayne Cason: Tyron Woodley says Jake Paul was literally shaking when jawing at him during their face-off on Thursday in Miami to promote their fight in August.
The former five-time UFC champion Woodley says the YouTuber Jake doesn’t believe in the things that he’s saying, and he’s seen that look before from guys that lacked confidence in themselves in the octagon.
Jake-Woodley stealing attention from Mayweather-Paul
What’s interesting is how the announcement of the Jake vs. Woodley fight has drawn away attention from Sunday’s exhibition match between Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr and popular YouTuber Logan Paul.
Despite the Jake – Woodley fight being two months away, it’s arguably attracting more interest than the Mayweather vs. Logan exhibition fight on Showtime pay-per-view.
There seems to be much more fan interest in Jake and Woodley’s fight than for the seemingly lackluster mismatch between Mayweather and Logan.
One reason for that is the Jake vs. Tyron fight is a genuine 50-50 match-up in which boxing and MMA fans don’t know who the winner will be.
You can’t say the same thing about Mayweather’s eight-round exhibition match with Logan, who has nothing in his game that would indicate that he can win this fight.
Jake: Woodley should be thanking me
“This is the biggest fight of his career, and I gave it to him,” said Jake Paul about Woodley. “He should be thanking me for the payday. Otherwise, he just would have been cut by the UFC and left on the sidelines,” said Jake.
It sounds like Jake wants Woodley to play it nice, and not trash-talk him after being hand-picked for the fight. That seems to be the underlying message when Jake says Woodley should be “thanking” him for being given the opportunity.
Woodley sees fear in Jake
“I’ve seen it in the Strike Force, I’ve seen it in the octagon, and I just seen it in the 5th Street Boxing gym,” said Tyron Woodley to Fiighthub about his face-off with Jake Paul on Thursday for their press conference.
“When I look in his face, he’s shaking, he don’t believe sh*t he’s saying,” Woodley continued. “It sounds good to you guys, but what he did was write a check that his a** can’t cash, that’s what his mouth did.
“He’s going to get knocked out, that’s up to you guys if it ends,” said Woodley when asked if he’s going to end Jake Paul’s YouTube era as a boxer. “For some reason, you guys want to see him fight.
“So you guys are going to see him again,” Tyron said when told that Jake just signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime Boxing.
“I’m thinking about my match-up, I’m not thinking of nothing else. He’s not going to get past that to get to the next one,” Woodley said when asked if Jake Paul will fight Floyd Mayweather Jr next,” said Woodley.
It does look like Jake was deathly afraid during the face-off with Woodly yesterday, and you could see him shaking. Also, Jake’s voice was cracking when talking, and he looked like he was trembling from nervousness.
