Errol Spence is flat-footed, Pacquiao is going to march on him – says Chris Colbert

By Tommy Gray: WBA interim super featherweight champion Chris Colbert says Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr is a “flat-footed” fighter and that Manny Pacquiao will beat him when they meet on August 21st.

Colbert believes the hand speed and the superior mobility of the 42-year-old former eight division world champion Pacquiao will be too much for Spence (27-0, 21 KOs) to deal with.

Many boxing fans believe the fight will have a different outcome from the way Colbert views it. They feel that Spence’s youth, size, and power will be too much for the 5’5 1/2″ Pacquiao.

For Manny to have a chance of winning, he’ll need to stay on the move and pray that Spence doesn’t utilize his long jab as he did against Mikey Garcia in 2019.

We really don’t know what we’re going to see from Pacquiao because he’s been out of the ring for two years since beating Keith Thurman in 2019, and he almost lost that fight.

Colbert says Spence is too flat-flooted

“Everybody is underestimating my boy, Pacquiao. I think I got Pacquiao,” said super featherweight Chris Colbert to Fighthype in picking Manny to beat Errol Spence Jr.

“Pacquiao is going to be so light. Errol Spence is flat-footed, that’s his problem. You can’t be flat-footed with Pacquiao.

He’s going to march all over that a** and be here there. And he’s like a jumping bean. He’s throwing that s*** as fast as hell.

“I know he [Spence] is a bad boy, but I’m going with Pacquiao. I keep going against Spence and keep getting paid for it

If Colbert is right about his prediction, he’s going to be viewed as a genius by boxing fans because there are so few people siding with the Filpino star.

Spence has the power and the fighting style that could lead to an early rout in this fight if he applies a lot of pressure early on.

“I think he can stop Pacquiao with a body shot,” said Danny Garcia. “But I think Pacquiao can stop him too.

“I think it’s a 50-50 fight. I don’t think it’s going the distance. If the Pacquiao that showed up against Keith Thurman, that’s a dangerous Pacquiao,” said Danny.

The Pacquiao that fought Thurman still might not have enough size or offense to stand up to the firepower that Spence will have going for him in this fight.

Pacquiao could end up in a disorganized retreat if Spence puts it on him from the beginning of the fight. This is a completely different type of fighter that Manny will be facing compared to what he’s fought in the past.
