By Jim Maltzman: A pleased Tyson Fury is pleased to announce that his mega-fight Anthony Joshua will “100 percent happen,” He expects it to find out in the next few days the date and the location for the clash.
Tyson Fury’s sudden change of attitude is a big departure from the negative way he spoke of the Joshua fight recently. It’s good that Fury sounds upbeat for a change.
Many boxing fans have begun to think that Fury didn’t fancy the job, given how gloomy he’d been talking.
According to Michael Benson, fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) has already flown to Las Vegas, Nevada, to begin training camp for the Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) fight. He’ll have his cutman Jorge Capetillo work with him for the fight, which could prove valuable.
This is the biggest fight of Fury’s career, and he’s going to need a good Plan-B just in case. Joshua is too big and powerful to be roughed up like Deontay Wilder last year.
“I think it will 100% happen, and I think we’re going to know within the next couple of days where and when. I’m confident this fight’s going to get made in the next few days,” said Fury to Behind The Gloves on the Joshua fight.
Joshua sent a message to Fury and the boxing world on Sunday, saying that Gypsy King had “nowhere to hide” from him. AJ added that he’s already started his training camp to prepare for the match, which is expected to occur in July.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn should announce the date and location of the Joshua-Fury match soon. Saudi Arabia is where the fight is likely going to be taking place.
Fury sounding happy, healthy, and ready
“It’s all good news,” said Fury. “I’m young, healthy, happy, rich, good looking.
“I’ve got everything going for me. What have I got to be sad about? There’s nothing to be sad about. I’m sitting in this f*** hotel room. It’s about fifty grand a night, unbelievable.
“Next-level stuff. I love people living the dream. I always have been. All the time I’ve been in boxing, I always have been living my dream because this is a dream come true for me.
“To be a boxer, to be a world champion, and to live like this. To do what I’ve done in the game, it’s been emotionally, physically, spiritually test. I loved it,” said Fury.
It sounds great what Fury is saying about him being on the verge of having the date and location for the AJ fight to be announced. Now we get this great fight on.
