Tyson Fury only needs binmen to prepare for Joshua

By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury says he can train with binmen [garbagemen] as his sparring partners and still beat a bodybuilder type of fighter. Fury also states that he only needs six or seven weeks to train for “bums”, and that he stopped training.

For Fury’s sake, hopefully, scrimp when it comes to hiring sparring partners to prepare for the fight against IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Joshua. As the saying goes, ‘Garbage in, garbage out.’

If Fury tries to train on the cheap by hiring local lads to spar with, he’s going to get wiped out by Joshua on the night.

With the millions that Fury is getting for the first AJ fight, why in the world is going on about wanting to work with binmen?

We still don’t know if Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) sign for the June fight with Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) or not because on Thursday, he was blabbering about how things weren’t right with the negotiation and he wanted a pocket full of money before he’d agree.

It’s unclear whether Fury wanted an advance of some of the loot he’ll be receiving for the first fight with Joshua. I guess if Fury is mistrustful of whether he’ll get his money, giving him a little taste of it ahead of time might motivate him to sign.

Fury stopped training

“I’m not training anymore. I only need six/seven weeks anyway for these bums. I don’t need no big, great sparring partners for a bodybuilding type of guy, I just need the local binmen,” said Fury to MTKGlobal about his fight against Joshua.

So there it is. Fury only wants to work with binmen to train for Joshua. Do you know what this tells Gilfoid? It tells me that Fury is getting ready to cook up an excuse if he loses to Joshua.

Once Fury loses, he can say he was training with binmen and not working with the high-level sparring partners to get him ready.

“You never know if I’m telling the truth or not,” said Fury. “When I tell the truth, people don’t believe me anyway, and when I don’t tell the truth, they still don’t believe me. Everything I said in my whole career I backed up.”

Well, at least honest about him bending the truth, you got to hand it to him for that.

Hearn doesn’t like Fury’s energy

“I don’t like the energy from Fury at the moment. He’s miserable, and feels he should have boxed in December,” said Eddie Hearn to Fino Boxing.

“Pump yourself up, and get ready for the biggest fight in boxing. I’m really confident. Anthony has been working really hard since December. I really think he’s going to knock Tyson Fury out,” said Hearn in unleashing the dogs of war talk.
