Jarrell Miller sees fight with Tyson Fury happening

By Allan Fox: Inactive heavyweight Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller believes he’ll be facing Tyson Fury shortly. Miller (23-0-1, 20 KOs) hasn’t fought in a year and a half, but he signed recently with Top Rank Boxing, the same promoters as Fury.

Just by inking with Top Rank, the 31-year-old Miller thinks increases the likelihood that he’ll be facing WBC heavyweight champion Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) at some point.

Miller has the charisma and the marketing ability to make a fight between him and Fury a big affair in the United States. To do that, Miller needs to get busy with his career and beat some talented fighters. He hasn’t done that yet.

The past victories that Miller has chalked up on his resume were against a lot of older bottom fringe level fighters. Miller has never beaten a quality heavyweight yet, and we don’t know how he’ll do against a halfway decent opponent.

Miller needs a top 15 ranking

With boxing having been stopped, Miller might not get a chance to fight until 2021. At that point, it’ll have been two years since he last fought. That’s a long time for any fighter to be out of the ring, especially someone that wants a quick title shot against Fury.

Additionally, what works against Miller getting a title shot against Fury is the fact that he’s not ranked in the top 15 by any of the four sanctioning bodies.

For Fury to fight Miller, he’s going to need to return to the ring and beat one or two contender level fighters for him to get a top 15 ranking. By doing that, Top Rank and Fury won’t receive so much abuse by the boxing public for making a fight between him and the undeserving Miller.

“I think it is, and I think that they were talking about it after Fury fighting Wilder again,” said Miller to skysports.com when asked if a fight between him and Fury was bound to happen. And I think that will be in the future. I would be on his chest all night,” said Miller of Fury.

When Fury faces Deontay Wilder in their trilogy match, Miller could be on the undercard of that fight. Top Rank would be making this move to help build up a future clash between ‘Big Baby’ Miller and Fury in the future. Miller was supposed to have been in the co-feature bout for the second fight between Fury and Wilder on February 22.

Big Baby blew chance to fight Joshua

Last year, IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and Miller were to fight in June at Madison Square Garden in New York. Unfortunately for Miller, he came up positive for the banned substance GW501516. With that positive test, the New York State Athletic Commission denied Miller his license to fight.

Andy Ruiz Jr. was then subsequently brought in to replace Miller, and he stopped Joshua in the 7th round to make history. Later, the WBA handed down a six-month suspension of Miller. On top of that, Miller tested positive for EPO and HGH.
