David Haye sees Tyson Fury as easy mark

haye5666By Sly Fox: Former Cruiserweight and Heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KOs) recently shared his thoughts with the BBC on how he feels his style would fair against the newly crowned WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF champion Tyson Fury (25-0-0).

“The Hayemaker” appeared very confident in claiming that Tyson Fury is avoiding him, adding: “It says a lot about a new champion that he’s saying he won’t fight the man who would generate the most amount of interest and money, and would be the biggest possible fight on the planet for him.”

David Haye then went onto mentioning that Fury is fully aware of his style, of which would “absolutely murder” Tyson’s.

After defeating the now former world champion and heavyweight boxing icon Wladimir Klitschko (64-4-0), Fury left a polarizing fracture in the heavyweight boxing community. Many of Tyson Fury’s supporters and dedicated boxing fans acknowledged his method, stating Tyson fulfilled exactly what was needed to achieve the victory.

Whereas critics argued it was accomplished against an aging opponent and in a less-than-flamboyant style; leaving a stale taste on the tongues of others (for the sake of quality article writing, I will refrain from allowing my personal viewpoints to influence my work). David Haye could therefore feel as confident as he is, because of his opinionated views on Tyson’s performance against Klitschko.

Nonetheless, the new world champion has made it clear to Haye that he must earn a title shot by working his way back up to the top tier. Furthermore, as Tyson Fury is currently at the pinnacle of the mountain, he is now the target of talents from all calibres. With talks of a rematch between Fury and Klitschko later in 2016, if he manages to retain and overcome “Dr. Steelhammer” a second time, then the stage is set for the arrival a new era of heavyweight champions and prospects. After all, the current WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (35-0-0) has recently expressed his desire to challenge Fury. As with the up-and-coming Olympic Gold medalist Anthony Joshua (14-0-0) and many other talents, including:

Alexander Povetkin (31-1-0)
Erkan Teper (15-0-0)
Dillian Whyte (16-0-0)
Ruslan Chagaev (34-2-1)
Luis Ortiz (23-0-2)
Joseph Parker (16-0-0)
Mark de Mori (29-1-2)
Lucas Browne (23-0-0)
Bermane Stiverne (25-2-1)

Moreover, not only will Tyson need to contend with these sturdy competitors, but in order for David Haye to grab his opportunity, he must also face these young and/or dexterous boxers. Haye is currently scheduled to face a very tough opposition in Mark de Mori (29-1-2) in January 2016.
