Boxingnews24’s Top Ten Mexican greatest fighters

Juan Manuel Marquez Julio Cesar ChavezBy Gerardo Granados: Mexico is a country with a huge boxing tradition, a nation in love with brave fighters and one that harbors a breed of the best boxing fans for their support but also one fan base that can be very demanding to their co-nationals. Most of the Mexican fighters will be known for their heart and macho attitude in and outside the ring. And, yes, most of them are brawlers and many lack great footwork and can’t be considered as slick boxing technicians but for sure they are some of the bravest and meanest sons of boxing.

There are no exceptions to the rule of the Mexican fighters fan friendly boxing style but there is a group who have excelled as prize fighters; the ones who can risk it all but also are really skilled.

The number one spot can’t be argued as a controversial or a hard call to make, but what about the rest of the list? Based only on their overall boxing skills, ring smarts, record, quality of opposition faced and achievements; and not on how famous they are the list goes like this:
