The final judges scores were 117-110, 117-111, 116-112. Glazkov dominated the action with his powerful jab and combinations through the first 9 rounds. Glazkov faded after the 9th, and Adamek was able to come on to get the better of the action in rounds 10 through 12.

#4 IBF Adamek had really been bullied by the stronger and younger Glazkov through most of the fight. By the end of the fight, Adamek’s right eye was almost completely swollen from the powerful jabs that Glazkov had been hitting him with. In fact, the right side of Adamek’s face was badly swollen.

With this win, Glazkov puts himself in position to fight in a final IBF heavyweight eliminator to become the mandatory challenger to heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.

After the fight Adamek was undecided about whether he would retire or not. His goal was to fight for the world title again, but he missed his chance with this defeat. The only way Adamek will be able to get another crack at a world title is if one of the heavyweight champions pick him out for an optional title defense. As popular as Adamek is, it’s very possible that he could eventually land a title shot against Wladimir if he can hang around long enough for Wladimir to get finished with his mandatory defenses.

#2 WBC Isaac Chilemba (22-2-2, 9 KO’s) dominated Russian Denis Grachev (13-3-1, 8 KO’s) in beating him by a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision. The final judges scored were 99-91, 99-91, 100-90. The more experienced Chilemba calmly picked off the hard hitting Grachev from the outside all night long, and was able to control the action with his superior hand speed. Grachev suffered a bad cut on the side of his left eye.

Former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron 35-5-2, 28 KO’s) defeated Ronald Cruz (20-3, 15 KO’s) by a 10 round unanimous decision in a competitive fight. The judges scored the fight 96-94, 96-94, 96-94. Cintron showed good power, but he was throwing too many single shots as if he was looking for a one-punch knockout all night long.

The tactic didn’t work against Cruz, who was able to handle Cintron’s power shots and return fire all night long to make the fight close. Cintron had the power to make this an easy fight, but he didn’t have the work rate or the combination punching. At this point in his career, Cintron needs a new trainer that can fix his fighting style so that he can take advantage of his power.

Undefeated lightweight Karl Dargan (15-0, 7 KO’s) kept his perfect record intact with an 8 round unanimous decision against Chazz McDowell (6-5-1, 1 KO’s). The final judges scores were 80-72, 80-72, 80-72.
