By Gerardo Granados: Some fighter’s endurance is simply phenomenal and they seem to want to fight forever but in this case I personally would like to see Roberto Duran fighting until the final day.
It has been reported by Argentinean media that the boxing living legend Panamanian Roberto Duran will have an exhibition bout in Argentina at the Luna Park stadium against former WBA middleweight champion Jorge “Locomotora” Castro; against who he already has faced twice in 1997 having one win and one defeat.
The 62 years old “Manos de Piedra” is already in Argentina and looks in good shape at the press pictures but obviously his best days are behind him but his ring smarts must be intact until now. The 46 years old “Locomotora” Castro will have this farewell fight before retiring after a long boxing career in which he achieved a record of 144 pro bouts.
As a big fan of Duran I would like to see him fight at that exhibition bout and I envy the boxing fans that will attend; not the less I hope no one gets hurt. Maybe someone who attends the event could share a short video for the rest of his fans to watch.
All those memories of the great Roberto Duran. His detractors can argue all they want but Duran is a top ten all time great and no one can deny that he still can get attention from boxing fans all around the world. Good luck to both mean sons of boxing.
