By Allan Fox: Yahoo sports is reporting that Manny Pacquiao’s close personal assistant Michael Koncz and assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez allegedly attacked Getty photographer Al Bello moments after Pacquiao had been knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez last Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand.

Pacquiao’s was out cold, face down on the canvas following the knockout, and Bello reportedly stood on the outside of the ring, attempting to take photos of Pacquiao while he was still down. Bello claims that Buboy and Koncz attacked him at that point, hitting and kicking him.

Bello said to Yahoo Sports “Had I not gotten off the ring, I have no doubt the two of them would have beaten the [expletive] out of me and I might have been seriously hurt.

It’s still unclear what exactly happened but in the photos you can see Koncz grabbing Bello while Buboy appeared to be kicking him as Bellow is attempting to get down from the side of the ring.

The incident will be reviewed by Keith Kizer, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and he could possibly penalize Buboy and Koncz if he observes that they were both assaulting the photographer.

It’s Bello’s job to take photos of the action including the aftermath of fights, and shooting photos of a knocked out fighter is part of his job. You can’t expect a photographer not to take photos just because a fighter was knocked out. That’s his job. If you look at the ring after Pacquiao’s knockout, there were massive amounts of photographers taking photos.

Bello is only interested in getting an apology from Buboy and Konz, and he doesn’t plan on contacting the police to report the incident.

Kizer remarked that he that Pacquiao’s team weren’t taking issue with photographers shooting pictures of Ricky Hatton after Pacquiao had knocked him out cold in the 2nd round in 2009.
