Image: Kessler KOs Magee!(Photo Wende) Last night Mikkel Kessler became a world champion for the fifth time by winning the WBA World Super middleweight Championship by knocking out Brian Magee in the third round. That’s a very impressive accomplishment and a very awesome victory.

The fight started of in the first round having Kessler controlling the fight, being very sharp and fast at moving back and forward and side to side, sticking with the jab. Though to Magee’s credit, he was doing quite fine by himself in the first round.

By the second round the end for Magee had already begun. Kessler knocked him down for the count with a beautiful hard punch to the solar plexus. Magee got up and tried his best to fight back, only to be hurt even more at the body and head as well, which resulted in him taking another count at the very end of round 2. Only 21 seconds into round 3, Kessler had Magee down again by another big hook to the body, and that was it. Kessler was victorious.

Credit to Brian Magee for coming to Denmark for the third time, putting on his best and being a good fighter. He was just not at Kessler’s world class.

The future looks very bright for The Viking Warrior. It’s gonna be interesting to see what.s up next for him. He’s up there at the top 3 in the division with Ward and Froch. By winning the WBA World Super middleweight Championship Kessler is guaranteed a fight with Andre Ward Next year, who is the WBA Super World Super middleweight Championship. Yeah it does get a bit confusing with all those titles now a days. But to put it short Ward has the real WBA Belt, which he won from Kessler Back in 2009. By winning the second best WBA title, the Viking Warrior is now first in line to get a fight with Ward (after he has fought Pavlik), and then have his chance of avenging their last fight.

Another exciting fight for Mikkel would be against Carl Froch, who is the current IBF World Champion, who he had a truly great fight with back in 2010. The fight was very close, but Kessler came out rightfully on top as the winner. Surely a lot of fighting fans around the world would like a rematch between the two, especially because it seems as both of the fighters (that’s my opinion at least) has become even better than they were before they first met.

2013 looks to be an exciting boxing year at the Super middleweight for Kessler, with very potential fights against both Andre “S.O.G” Ward and Carl “The Cobra” Froch. What would be the outcome of those fights? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain, those fight is gonna be awesome.

What do you think about the 2013 potential fights at Super Middleweight?

This is my first article ever, but I have tried to keep it as Objective as possible. Take care out there.
