What’s next for Mayweather and “The Money Team”?

Image: What’s next for Mayweather and “The Money Team”?By Paul Walsh: Since his release from prison Floyd “Money” Mayweather has been quick to play down a return to the ring as he wants to focus on “Mayweather promotions” and in his words find the “next” Mayweather.

However, I am not convinced. With a record as good and ego as big as Mayweather’s it won’t be long until he is back in the ring. The big question is who he will fight next? With Pacquiao agreeing to a forth show down with Marquez, the much anticipated fight with Mayweather is looking less and less likely.

So I have made a list of possible opponents to challenge the human ATM:

1. Saul Alvarez
2. Sergio Martinez
3. Amir Khan
4. Paulie Malinaggi
5. Timothy Bradley

The best contest would be against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez but the most likely is Sergio Martinez. Having said that would Floyd feel comfortable going up to 160-165 for that fight? It is unlikely that Martinez will come down so a catch weight would be the best solution.

Regardless what weight they fight at I am confident Mayweather will win and remain undefeated and go down as one of the best to ever lace up a pair of gloves.
Let’s hope that he will fight again as it will be a huge loss for the sport if we never see him in a ring again.
