Maloney said this to the BBC Sport “It was 20 years ago that Lennox knocked Razor Ruddock out and that punch was better than the one Lennox threw.”

I don’t which of Price’s right hand punches that Maloney is blathering about because none of the ones that I saw Price throw seemed to be anything close to the shot that Lewis hit Ruddock with in his 2nd round knockout on October 31st in 1992. The difference here was that Lewis was a lot more powerful with the shot he threw, and he was lot quicker with his right hand that he hit Ruddock with compared to the slow, rigid and robotic looking right hand that Price threw that hurt Harrison. I’m assuming that Maloney is talking about that punch specifically because none of Price’s other shots looked particularly powerful after Harrison backed up to the ropes and just took shot after shot to the head.

The problem that Price has it he’s not really smooth looking when he throws shots. Price looks like someone that has no flexibility in his upper body. He’s incredibly stiff, and this obviously hurts his hand speed. Price can punch but his lack of hand speed and range of motion really hurts his power. The more flexible and athletic a fighter is the greater power.

Price seems more like a Alexander Povetkin type in terms of power. They both hit about the same but Povetkin is a lot more flexible and athletic. I rate him as a better fighter than Price by far.
