Who should Froch face next?

Image: Who should Froch face next?By Dan Henderson: With November not so far away Carl Froch has still not found an opponent but what I want to discuss is potential opponents. Who will he face? Who should he face? Should he take it easy?

Carl Froch has never been one to shy away from a challenge, he is a credit to boxing also he is a rare fighter because he has fought elite fighter after elite fighter. In his last bout he beat the previously undefeated Lucien Bute but to me Bute kinda reminded me of Jeff Lacy because he was hyped up but never really fought anyone worth mentioning but that is not taking away from Carl’s performance because he was supposed to lose apparently as Bute was that much better than him but he battered him in a five round barnstormer, Bute deserves credit because he wants the chance to prove the doubters wrong by executing the rematch clause.

Now we get to potential opponents the talk at the moment is Kelly Pavlik but rumour has it he is trying to haggle a better deal which I don’t understand because he hasn’t fought his way into title contention as he has been fighting pretty much average opponents but it would be a good name on Froch’s legacy and I think it would be a relatively straight forward fight for Froch. There was talk of a fight against against South African fighter Thomas Oosthuizen but he ruled himself out which is a blessing in disguise because Oosthuizen in not very well known to the casual fan so it wouldn’t generate much hype. Talk from the states suggest Andre Dirrell wants a rematch but does he deserve one? I don’t think so because he has fought once since his fight with Arthur Abraham and he doesn’t deserve a shot at the title.

Out of those options I’d pick Pavlik because he is the bigger name and it would be an entertaining fight. Who would you chose?
