Image: Has Deontay found his level?By Steven Ocallaghan: Audley Harrison, former 2000 Olympic super heavyweight gold medalist is currently in America for some much needed sparring against American 2008 Olympic Bronze medalist Deontay Wilder.

Wilder should provide a decent test for the 40 year old Harrison, who is taking on David Price next month at The Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Wilder is of similar height and reach as Price and the both have heavy hands, but has Wilder ultimately found his level as a British contenders sparring partner.

Last year before David Haye fought Wladimir Klitchko, Wilder also sparred with Haye for the same reasons. At that point in his career he had 15 wins, but to be honest I haven’t seen him take any more forward steps.

Sparring with Haye you would have thought would have given him a taste for the big fight, but it seems that in just over a year he is still being used because of his height and reach.

Harrison has been in with a better quality of fighter than Wilder and even at 40 would still be regarded as Wilder’s toughest test if it was a fight, a fight I’m not sure Wilder would win.

One of Harrison’s biggest flaws seams to be the fighting heart, but again we don’t even know what Wilder’s good and bad points are if he is still being fed the Manswells, Becks and Oltmanns of this world.

I hope we hear how sparring goes for both guys , then it will give us an indication of where they both are. But until then Wilder will still be Haye and Harrison’s training buddy.
