Image: Audley has a chance of stopping David Price if he lets his hands goBy Scott Gilfoid: There’s no doubt that 40-year-old Audley Harrison (28-5, 21 KO’s) is a huge underdog going into his October 13th fight against unbeaten British heavyweight champion David Price (13-0, 11 KO’s) at the Echo Arena, in Liverpool, England. Price’s promoter has picked an old one for the 29-year-old Price to fight instead of a younger fighter with a lot more life in him.

The thing is even the 40ish Harrison remains a threat to wrecking the 6’8″ Price’s heavyweight world title dreams if he can land one good shot on that fragile chin to take him out. The stork-like Price is as stiff as a board when he fights and he stands straight up like a flagpole when he fights and his chin is just begging to be smacked with a big left hand shot. All Harrison has to do is land one big shot on Price’s puss and he’ll likely have him hanging on the ropes like a big spider trying spin a web.

I know in the past Harrison has frozen when faced with a threat and put under pressure. Harrison has shown a tendency to not let his hands go if he’s fighting someone he perceives as a threat to him. If he fights like he did in his 3rd round TKO loss to David Haye, then he’ll lose. However. Harrison can let his hands go like he did in winning the Prizefighter tourney in 2009, he should be able to smack Price out of there with one good shot.

I think Price would go even if Harrison hits him with a big slapping shot instead of a real solid blow. Price’s chin is just too susceptible and Harrison hits too hard. This is the perfect fight for Harrison because he has a guy with a weak chin who stands straight up when he fights and is easy to hit with power shots.
